We are looking for a talented System / Network Administrator to maintain, configure, and ensure the reliable operation of our systems, including servers, networks, security, backups, and cloud services. We are an employee-owned environmental engineering firm focused on the planning, design, and oversight of water, wastewater, and stormwater infrastructure. This role is hybrid onsite 2-3 days per week in Los Angeles, CA Job Duties: • Administer computer networks, hardware, system software, applications, and all configurations. • Install, configure, and maintain network hardware (routers, switches, firewalls, VPNs) and software. • Install and integrate new server hardware and applications, keeping systems updated with the latest software patches. • Administer and maintain virtualized environments (e.g., Hyper-V, Citrix) and cloud services (e.g., Azure, AWS). • Monitor network performance and security to proactively identify and resolve issues and test for weaknesses. • Troubleshoot and resolve network and system problems reported by end-users. • Perform regular data backups and disaster recovery operations. • Manage user accounts, permissions, and passwords within Microsoft Active Directory and Microsoft Entra. • Implement and maintain security measures, including anti-virus, firewalls, and intrusion detection systems. • Maintain clear and up-to-date documentation of the network and system infrastructure. Ideal Background: • 5+ years of experience in a system or network administration role. • Proficiency with Microsoft Windows Server and client operating systems. • Experience managing and maintaining Microsoft Active Directory/Entra. • Experience with virtualization (Hyper-V, Citrix) and cloud technologies (Azure, AWS). • Familiarity with Sonicwall or similar networking equipment (routers, switches, firewalls). • Knowledge of network protocols (TCP/IP) and services (DNS, DHCP). • Familiarity with security tools and best practices. • Excellent problem-solving, critical-thinking, and communication skills. • Experience with Linux administration is a plus. • Bachelor's degree or equivalent relevant work experience.
