Summary of Position: The Software Engineer I, II, III provides technical design and engineering support within the Equipment Technology organization. This position is responsible for the design, delivery, and integration of Liberty Energy's software applications and platforms focused on equipment operations, health monitoring, and reliability. These applications utilize equipment telemetry data and leverage technologies such as machine learning and AI to enhance equipment performance and predict equipment failures. In this role, the individual will work with a team of engineers in support of this mission, with additional support from the wider technology organization to drive maximum value from digital equipment monitoring systems. Qualifications & Requirements: • Proficiency in Python for data processing, analytics, and machine learning (NumPy, Pandas, Scikit-learn, PyTorch, TensorFlow). • Machine learning expertise in supervised, unsupervised, and reinforcement learning methods. • Experience with Databricks for collaborative development, including: • PySpark / Spark SQL for distributed data processing. • Delta Lake for data management. • Databricks notebooks for feature engineering, model training, and analytics. • MLflow for experiment tracking and model deployment. • Data engineering skills including ETL pipeline creation, data cleaning, and feature engineering. • Strong SQL skills (Microsoft SQL Server, Spark SQL) and experience with NoSQL databases (MongoDB). • Experience working with large-scale datasets and optimizing performance in distributed environments. • Familiarity with time-series data analysis and statistical modeling. • Ability to integrate ML/AI models into production APIs (Flask, FastAPI, ASP.NET Web API, Azure Functions). • Experience with MLOps practices for deployment, monitoring, and retraining of models. • Understanding of probability, statistics, and linear algebra for algorithm development. • Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure) for compute, storage, and deployment. • Proficiency in data visualization (Matplotlib, Seaborn, Plotly, Power BI, or Tableau). • Experience with real-time streaming data (Kafka, MQTT, AWS IoT, Azure Event Hubs). • Knowledge of optimization algorithms (e.g., genetic algorithms, simulated annealing) for decision-making systems. • Experience with vector databases and semantic search. • Familiarity with computer vision or NLP model development. • Experience with edge AI deployment Indicators & Attributes for Success: • Effective and decisive decision-making skills • Attention to detail • Cultural awareness • Business acumen • Customer/Client focus • Critical evaluation • Positive attitude • Organizational and prioritization skills • Communication skills • Accountability • Ethical practice • Patience • Flexibility • Must be sensitive to corporate needs, employee goodwill, and the business needs. Primary Responsibilities: • Engineers and maintains the flow of data from PLCs to edge computers, cloud databases, web platforms and downstream applications. • Leads system design discussions and collaboration efforts with inter-departmental teams to develop innovative solutions. • Ensures the reliability, security, and scalability of data integration processes. • Troubleshoots and resolves any issues related to data flow and integration. • Documents development processes, system designs, and operational procedures. • Other Duties: This job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this position. Salary: $75,000/YR - $165,000/YR Compensation for the role will depend on a number of factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies, and experience and may fall outside of the range shown.
