Our amazing client, a leading QSR brand, is adding a Vice President of Data, Insights, and Integration Platform Engineering to lead their data strategy and execution. This senior leadership role is responsible for the design, development, and scaling of a world-class data and integration platform that powers our business intelligence, advanced analytics, machine learning, and application integration needs. It will lead a high-performing team of data, platform, and integration engineers, fostering a culture of innovation, excellence, and continuous improvement. Full, executive relocation available **** • **** No sponsorship is available ***** What you will be doing: • Define and execute the long-term technical vision and roadmap for the data, insights, and integration platforms • Drive platform strategy decisions, including technology stack selection, build vs. buy analysis, and architectural patterns (e.g., data mesh, data fabric, centralized data lakehouse). • Serve as a senior authority on data architecture, governance, and integration, influencing enterprise-wide standards and best practices. • Lead the design, development, and implementation of scalable, reliable, and secure data platforms that support data ingestion, processing (batch and streaming), storage, and consumption. • Oversee the modernization of legacy data systems, migrating to cloud-native platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) and adopting modern data architectures. • Champion engineering best practices, including CI/CD, infrastructure as code, observability, and automated testing to ensure platform stability and efficiency. • Direct the development of robust integration solutions and APIs that enable seamless data flow between internal systems and with external partners. • Establish and enforce data governance frameworks, including data quality, metadata management, lineage, and security policies, to ensure the integrity and accessibility of data assets. • Collaborate with data science and analytics teams to enable advanced analytics, AI/ML, and business intelligence capabilities through a robust and trusted data platform. • Promote data literacy across the organization, making data a strategic asset for all business functions. • Manage the technology budget, including cloud costs, vendor relationships, and licensing, to ensure cost-effective and scalable operations. • Establish and track key performance indicators (KPIs) and objectives and key results (OKRs) to measure the success and impact of the platform engineering initiatives. What you bring to the table: • 15+ years of progressive experience in data engineering, platform engineering, or related technical fields, with at least 8 years in senior leadership roles managing large engineering organizations. • Proven track record of designing, building, and scaling enterprise-grade data platforms in a cloud environment (AWS, Azure, or GCP). • Deep expertise in data management principles, including data architecture, ETL/ELT processes, data governance, and data quality frameworks. • Strong knowledge of modern data technologies such as Spark, Kafka, Snowflake, Databricks, and experience with data warehousing, data lakes, and lakehouse architectures. • Experience with application integration patterns, APIs, microservices, and relevant tools. • Exceptional leadership and people management skills, with a focus on building, mentoring, and inspiring high-performing teams. • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
