Position Title: Senior Windows Engineer Location: Fort Meade, Md. (100% On-site) Clearance Requirement: Top Secret SCI or Top Secret with TS/SCI eligibility Hours: Dayshift (flexible) Company: Regulus Technical Services LLC Position Summary: The Senior Windows Engineer will be responsible for the design, implementation, maintenance, and support of our Windows-based infrastructure within a Department of Defense (DoD) environment. This role requires a strong understanding of Windows Server operating systems, Active Directory, system security hardening, and compliance with DoD regulations, DISA STIGs and best practices. The successful candidate will work independently and collaboratively with a team of IT professionals to ensure the stability, security, and performance of our critical systems. Responsibilities: • Design, deploy, configure, and maintain Windows Server operating systems (e.g., 2016, 2019, 2022). • Manage and administer Active Directory, including user and group management, GPOs, DNS, and DHCP. • Implement and enforce security hardening measures in accordance with DoD STIGs (Security Technical Implementation Guides) and other relevant security frameworks. • Troubleshoot complex Windows Server and Active Directory issues, providing timely and effective resolutions. • Develop and maintain PowerShell scripts for automation of system administration tasks. • Participate in the planning and execution of system upgrades, migrations, and patching. • Monitor system performance and identify potential bottlenecks, recommending and implementing solutions. • Collaborate with cybersecurity teams to implement and maintain security controls. • Document system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps. • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior team members. • Stay current with relevant technologies and best practices in Windows Server administration and security. • Adhere to all DoD regulations, policies, and procedures. • Participate in on-call rotation as required. Required Qualifications: • 10+ years of experience as a Windows Server Administrator or Engineer. • Strong understanding of Windows Server operating systems and Active Directory. • Experience implementing and maintaining security hardening in accordance with DoD STIGs. • Experience in PowerShell scripting for automation. • Experience with virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, Virtual Desktops). • Understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP). • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. • Strong communication and interpersonal skills. • Ability to work independently and as part of a team. • Required certifications - COMPTIA Security+ or higher • Must be a U.S. Citizen due to government contract requirements. Preferred Qualifications: • Microsoft Certified: Windows Server Hybrid Administrator Associate, MCSE or equivalent • Experience working in a DoD or other government environment. • Familiarity with other security frameworks and compliance standards (e.g., NIST 800-53). • Experience with Microsoft Exchange Server 2016/2019 • Experience with cloud technologies (e.g., Azure, AWS) in a hybrid environment. • Experience with SAN storage (Netapp) backup and recovery solutions. • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
