We are seeking a highly skilled and proactive Senior Systems Administrator/Engineer to lead the design, implementation, and ongoing support of enterprise IT infrastructure. This hands-on technical resource will ensure the performance, security, and reliability of our on-premises and cloud systems while mentoring junior team members and driving automation and process improvements. Worksite Location: This is an onsite position, 5 days a week, in Eagan, MN. Not a remote or hybrid position. Roles & Responsibilities: • Act as the senior escalation point for complex technical issues, providing expert troubleshooting and guidance. • Administer Active Directory, Linux systems, some Windows servers, and virtualization tools like VMware and Hyper-V. • Design, deploy, and manage servers, virtualization platforms, storage, networking, and cloud systems (Azure/AWS). • Maintain secure, high-performing hybrid infrastructure environments (on-prem and cloud). • Automate administrative tasks using scripting tools such as PowerShell, Bash, or Python. • Monitor and support network infrastructure to resolve connectivity and performance issues. • Develop and enforce IT best practices, security standards, and operational procedures. • Mentor junior team members and foster a collaborative, growth-oriented culture. • Contribute to IT strategy by evaluating and recommending emerging technologies. • Ensure systems meet cybersecurity standards and data protection compliance. • Lead infrastructure projects, including upgrades, migrations, and integrations. • As needed, assist in configuring and managing routers, switches, firewalls, and VPNs to ensure optimal network performance. • Work with cross-functional teams to align infrastructure solutions with business goals. • Create and maintain detailed documentation for system configurations, procedures, and architecture. Required Skills & Experience: • 8+ years of systems administration/engineering experience, with at least 2+ years in a senior or lead role. • Strong expertise in Linux operating systems, solid experience supporting Windows systems, virtualization (VMware/Hyper-V), and cloud platforms (Azure/AWS). • Strong understanding of networking protocols, firewalls, and cybersecurity best practices. • Proficiency in scripting languages such as PowerShell, Bash, or Python. • Experience designing and implementing complex infrastructure and cloud solutions.
