Position Overview As a Senior Cloud Platform Engineer at Texas Roadhouse, you will take a leadership role in managing cloud infrastructure across AWS, Azure, and VMware platforms, ensuring that cloud solutions are secure, scalable, and aligned with business objectives. You will lead complex cloud deployments, optimize platform performance, and mentor junior engineers. Additionally, you will play a key role in driving automation initiatives, ensuring compliance with industry standards, and providing advanced support for critical infrastructure. Responsibilities • Cloud Infrastructure Leadership and Optimization: • Lead the design, deployment, and optimization of cloud platforms, focusing on delivering secure, scalable, and highly available cloud infrastructure solutions. • Contribute significantly to the Architecture Review Board to ensure that infrastructure aligns with enterprise architecture standards and long-term business goals. • Support and Incident Resolution: • Provide advanced support for advanced cloud infrastructure issues, troubleshooting high-level platform problems and providing guidance to Level 1, 2 and 3 engineers. • Use tools like New Relic and ServiceNow to monitor platform performance and proactively resolve incidents before they impact business operations. • Works on solutions to remediate problems long term. • Advanced Automation and Infrastructure as Code (IaC): • Drive automation initiatives using advanced Terraform and Ansible solutions to streamline cloud deployments, reduce manual interventions, and ensure infrastructure consistency. • Lead the development and optimization of CI/CD pipelines, focusing on automating infrastructure provisioning, scaling, and maintenance. • Platform Security, Compliance, and Governance: • Ensure platform compliance with security policies and regulatory requirements by managing identity management, access controls, and encryption. • Conduct platform security audits, working with the security team to ensure that infrastructure follows industry best practices (aligned with NIST, PCI, and CIS). • Collaboration and Mentorship: • Mentor and guide junior engineers in cloud platform best practices, automation techniques, and troubleshooting methodologies. • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support platform initiatives, ensuring that infrastructure solutions align with business performance, availability, and security requirements. • Capacity Planning and Documentation: • Lead capacity planning efforts, ensuring cloud resources are optimized to meet both current and future business demands. • Maintain comprehensive documentation for platform configurations, operational procedures, and automation scripts, ensuring alignment with enterprise architecture principles. Qualifications • BA/BS in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience). • 7+ years of experience in cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure), with a strong focus on virtualization, automation, and security. • Advanced proficiency with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform, Ansible, and ARM templates. • Demonstrated expertise in cloud security, compliance, and identity management (e.g., Entra ID). • Strong leadership and collaboration skills, with experience leading cross-functional projects.
