Senior Infrastructure Engineer Birmingham (Hybrid – 1 day in the office) Up to £60,000 + Benefits We’re looking for a Senior Infrastructure Engineer with strong, hands-on experience in VMware to join an established IT team based in Birmingham. This is a hybrid role (1 day a week on-site) and will suit someone who enjoys a mix of project-based work (predominantly) and some BAU support (escalations). The Role You’ll take the lead on a range of infrastructure projects, working across on-prem and cloud environments. This is a senior-level role, so alongside the technical work, you'll be supporting the Infrastructure Team Lead with mentoring more junior engineers and helping with task planning and allocation. You will help maintain a VMWare based enterprise scale highly regulated Infrastructure platform whilst also helping with migrations into Azure. What We’re Looking For • Deep expertise in VMware – vSphere, vCenter, ESXi, etc. • Solid background in delivering infrastructure projects end-to-end • Comfortable acting as a technical escalation point and mentor combined with a mix of the following: • Microsoft Azure • Intune • SCCM • Veeam • Cisco (routing/switching/firewalls) • Windows Server (2012 – 2022) What You’ll Get Flexible working (1 day per week in the office) A great culture (including investment in training and certifications) and rewards for service Good benefits package and career progression opportunities If you're an experienced infrastructure engineer who’s ready to step into a senior position with real impact, this could be the role for you.
