We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Systems Infrastructure Engineer to join our team and play a key role in all activities related to the installation, configuration, and management of the server and end user computing environment, which comprises workstations, printers, mobile devices, servers and storage. This position is responsible for the maintaining and administering critical IT business systems along with creation, maintenance, and distribution of desktop and laptop images. This engineer will provide ongoing recommendations and Best Practices from a technical and operational level to the team. The Systems Infrastructure Engineer should be local to the DC metro area or willing to relocate. This is a hybrid role that requires regular in-office presence. How will you make an impact? • Installing, configuring, and maintaining the Windows Server infrastructure. • Troubleshooting, upgrading, and optimizing application and web servers. • Maintaining patching and security remediation for server and desktop environments. • Ensuring compliance for security software and patch deployment; assisting the security team with compliance reporting and remediation. • Administering and maintaining NetApp SAN/NAS; allocating storage disks for data and applications; managing, monitoring, maintaining, and supporting storage devices and fiber switches; managing relationships with vendor support contacts and hardware support matrix; alerting direct management to potential or existing issues, new versions, features, enhancements, and improvement/optimization opportunities. • Providing technical support for both systems application and help desk teams. • Managing configuration using Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM) and Tanium. • Maintaining and supporting the corporate standard operating system build process. • Performing and validating test packages for Microsoft Servers and Workstations operating systems. • Monitoring production deployment processes with system engineers from other network facilities. • Developing custom application packages and rewrapping existing vendor packages as necessary. • Managing monthly Windows Update deployment process to Windows servers and workstations. • Managing Active Directory Users and Computers and Group Policies to provide the desired end-user experience and settings on client desktops. • Communicating software resolutions to end users in person or via phone; making necessary adjustments to the computer software and hardware environment • Installing, configuring, and troubleshooting various software installations, including Microsoft operating systems, Microsoft Office products, and other necessary software. • Resolving hardware and software issues related to desktop and laptop PCs on a Windows network. • Imaging, configuring, deploying, upgrading, and troubleshooting desktop/laptop computers. • Overseeing asset tagging, tracking, and inventory. • Maintaining up-to-date records for all firm software licenses. • Responding to, researching, and resolving user inquiries for second-level support escalated from the Help Desk. • Actively engaging with IT staff daily regarding customer interactions and technical issues to ensure service levels are met. What will you bring to the role? • Bachelor's degree; or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred. • 5+ years experience working with SCCM (SMS) and related technologies. • Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager certification but will substitute high-level experience. • Experience with enterprise applications such as MS SQL, NetApp, VMWare • Experience with NetApp hardware and ONTAP configuration/administration • Active Directory experience with Group Policy management • Continuously seek quality service and process improvements in order to support a mission and strategic vision. • Communicate and interact with, as well as support effective partnerships with peers and subordinates. • Prioritize ongoing and new projects, as well as conduct research and gather information. The good faith base salary range for this position is $100,000 to $130,000 per year. The actual salary rate offered to candidates within that range will depend on a variety of factors, including without limitation, years of relevant experience, education, and the candidate’s overall qualifications for the position as assessed by the Firm.
