Job Title: Director of Business Service & Technology Location: Milwaukee, WI Report To: Chief Financial Officer (CFO) Classification: Full Time, Exempt Direct Reports: IT Support Analyst; Print Assistant Grade: 8 Position Summary The Director of Business Service & Technology leads the council's business and IT functions, overseeing two support staff, managing vendor partnerships, and ensuring smooth operations at service centers in Milwaukee and Kenosha. Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, this dynamic and collaborative role is pivotal in delivering exceptional service onsite to proactively respond to the evolving needs of both internal teams and external stakeholders. This role drives results, leverages resourcefulness and displays strong problem-solving skills through the coordination of a wide range of operational activities and building effective vendor relationships to advance the council's effectiveness and maintain seamless operations. What You'll Do Facilities Management • Manage service center vendor relationships for landscaping, cleaning, elevator and HVAC services, snow removal, etc. • Coordinate the upkeep of service centers and ensure they are well-maintained and operational. IT & Technology Oversight • Serve as the primary liaison with Technology vendors (copiers, phones, internet, managed IT service provider) across all council locations (service centers, camps, and program centers). • Supervise internal IT staff and ensure vendor accountability. • Oversee council computers, telecommunications, and other technical systems. • Develop and implement strategies for technology use to achieve council goals. Security & Safety • Oversee service center security systems including key card access, alarm systems, and security cameras. • Coordinate with vendors for maintenance and upgrades. • Support risk management efforts related to service and resource centers, business operations, and technology. Purchasing & Supplies • Lead purchasing for print shop materials, general office supplies, and departmental needs. • Coordinate office supply and equipment needs for the council. • Maintain cost-effective procurement practices and vendor relationships. Program & Event Support • Facilitate troop meeting reservations at service centers. • Coordinate transportation (e.g., bussing) for council events. • Oversee maintenance and readiness of the Girl Scout Mobile. General Operations & Staff Supervision • Manage administrative support and coordinate projects to assist staff. • Supervise staff, including hiring, performance management, coaching, and training for professional growth. • Provide day-to-day operational support across departments. • Collaborate with internal teams to streamline processes and improve service delivery. • Work closely with MarCom department to ensure council printing needs are met and coordinate out-of-house mailings. • Routine travel between Milwaukee (80%) and Kenosha (20%) locations to ensure seamless operations and support across service center locations. Budget & Fiscal Management • Create and responsibly manage the Business Service and Technology department's fiscal budget. • Lead the sourcing and selection of vendors by developing and managing Requests for Proposals (RFPs), ensuring competitive pricing, quality service, and alignment with council objectives. Requirements Who You Are & Keys to Success • Bachelor's degree in business management or related field and/or at least 5 years of experience in business management, operations, facilities, retail or vendor management, including supervisory responsibilities. • Proactive problem-solver who works independently, takes initiative, and adapts easily to change. • Communicate clearly, build strong relationships, and deliver excellent customer service to people at all levels. • Possess project management skills with the ability to remain organized, set priorities and manage multiple detailed tasks effectively. • Comfortable with technology, including Microsoft Office Suite and 365; experience with customer relationship management systems (CRM) systems like Salesforce is a plus. • Experience with computerized inventory control/management systems and managing budgets, and financial data. • Critical thinker who uses data to ensure service quality and alignment with organizational needs. • Available to be on-call for service center security or other urgent needs including occasional evenings or weekends. • Willingness to subscribe to the philosophy of the Girl Scout program and join as a Girl Scout member, which includes paying a membership fee, either annually or as a Lifetime Member. • Travel within the region and access to dependable transportation is required. A valid driver's license and use of your own vehicle are preferred. If so, you must comply with the council's automobile insurance policy limits and have a driving record that meets the requirements of the council's business auto insurance carrier. If you are unable to drive, a transportation plan must be submitted and approved prior to an official offer being made. • The physical demands described are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
