The Planet Group has partnered with a Dallas area company to locate a DevOps Engineer to work with Azure integrations for a contract-to-hire role. The successful candidate must be willing to be onsite 3 days a week in the Dallas office. Because this is a contract-to-hire role, all candidates but be able to work directly on a W2 with no third-party sponsorship allowed. We are seeking a hands-on Cloud Integration Engineer experienced in building and supporting Azure Function Apps using Java and Node.js. This role focuses on developing, debugging, and deploying event-driven serverless functions that integrate enterprise systems such as Pramata, Dynamics 365, or Workday Financials. This is a coding-centric role — not DevOps — ideal for a software engineer who enjoys solving integration challenges using modern serverless architectures in Azure. Key Responsibilities • Design, develop, and deploy Azure Function Apps using Java and Node.js for event-driven, API-based integrations. • Integrate data and workflows across enterprise systems such as Pramata (contract lifecycle management), Dynamics CRM, and Workday Financials. • Build and optimize serverless pipelines using HTTP, Event Grid, Timer, and Queue bindings. • Write clean, well-structured, and reusable code for cross-system integrations and service orchestration. • Collaborate with architecture and infrastructure teams to align integrations with enterprise security and scalability standards. • Support CI/CD automation and version control using Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions. • Troubleshoot and debug Function Apps, ensuring uptime, performance, and reliability. • Participate in code reviews and mentor junior developers on Azure development best practices. Required Qualifications • 7+ years of professional software development experience in enterprise or cloud environments. • 4+ years of direct experience developing and maintaining Azure Function Apps or other serverless applications. • Proficiency in Java for backend development; working knowledge of Node.js for event-driven functions and integrations. • Strong understanding of Azure services such as Function Apps, Logic Apps, API Management, App Service Plans, and Key Vault. • Hands-on experience integrating external APIs and systems (REST, GraphQL, or webhooks). • Working knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and Infrastructure as Code using Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, or Pulumi. • Familiarity with event-based or message-driven architectures. • Excellent problem-solving and debugging skills in cloud-native environments. Preferred Skills • Experience designing or integrating AI-powered or data-driven features within enterprise systems. • Familiarity with contract management or CRM/ERP integrations (Pramata, Dynamics 365, Workday). • Exposure to Python or Azure ML services for lightweight AI integration. • Experience leading design or architecture discussions for cloud-native applications.
