Senior Systems Administrator - Azure Focus We are actively seeking an experienced Senior Systems Administrator to join our team in a full-time, direct hire position. This role is fully onsite in Dallas, NYC, Phoenix, or Austin and will support a predominantly virtualized environment utilizing VMware, Azure, and AWS. Location: Onsite in Dallas, NYC, Phoenix or Austin Expected Salary: $110,000 - $130,000 plus benefits Key Responsibilities: • Engage in on-call rotation, after-hours maintenance, and incident response to maintain system availability. • Lead infrastructure projects from conception through execution while ensuring clear communication. • Design, manage, and optimize VMware vSphere environments including ESXi, vCenter, and vSAN. • Administer Windows Server infrastructure (Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP) while providing support for a minimal Linux server environment. • Oversee SAN, NAS, and object storage systems to guarantee optimal data availability and performance. • Drive process improvements by leveraging the latest technologies in virtualization, cloud, and automation. • Maintain comprehensive documentation for systems, architecture, and operational procedures. • Implement security best practices; monitor logs, respond to incidents, and ensure compliance. • Manage the entire OS and application lifecycle: installation, patching, upgrades, and troubleshooting. • Offer expert-level support for complex infrastructure and networking challenges. • Networking expertise (Cisco, Meraki, Palo Alto) is a valued bonus. • Occasional travel to company offices may be required. Qualifications: • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, MIS, or a related field, or equivalent work experience. • 10+ years of systems/infrastructure administration experience, specifically in VMware and Microsoft Windows Server environments. • In-depth knowledge of VMware vSphere (ESXi, vCenter, vSAN) and core Windows services (Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP). • Experience with SAN/NAS storage, hybrid cloud environments (Azure and/or AWS), and Microsoft 365 tools (Entra/Azure AD, SCCM). • Proficient in PowerShell scripting; familiarity with Python or other scripting languages is advantageous. • Basic understanding of web servers (IIS, Apache, Tomcat) and SQL administration preferred. • Strong comprehension of system security, patch management, and access control measures. • Valuable certifications include VMware VCP, Azure Administrator Associate, or equivalent credentials.
