Senior It Systems Administrator As a Senior IT Systems Administrator at Equiti, you will play a key leadership role in managing, securing, and optimizing our hybrid IT infrastructure. You'll provide expert-level support for Windows and macOS systems, oversee Microsoft Azure and Office 365 administration, and champion our device management ecosystem using JAMF and Intune. In addition to core systems responsibilities, this role places strong emphasis on cybersecurity posture and incident response readiness. You'll take point on proactively defending our environment, maturing our incident response capabilities, and coordinating with stakeholders during security events. This is a high-impact role requiring technical depth, operational maturity, and a strategic mindset to safeguard business continuity and system resilience. Essential Responsibilities: Design, deploy, and maintain secure and highly available systems across Windows, macOS, and Microsoft Azure environments. Administer and optimize cloud services including Microsoft 365, Azure Active Directory, Intune, JAMF, and related platforms. Lead efforts in threat detection, response, and mitigation using tools such as ThreatLocker, CrowdStrike, and Microsoft Defender. Drive cybersecurity initiatives including vulnerability management, compliance reporting, and continuous improvement of security baselines. Implement and maintain security controls such as applying patches, enforcing access controls, managing and monitoring endpoint configurations to align with organizational security policies. Develop and maintain the enterprise Incident Response Plan, coordinate tabletop exercises, and serve as the primary technical lead during security events. Build and maintain automation workflows (Zapier, Pipefy, PowerShell, Bash) to streamline operations and reduce manual overhead. Provide mentorship and technical escalation support to other IT team members and departments. Document and continuously refine SOPs, system diagrams, and security procedures. Collaborate with IT leadership on strategic planning, roadmap execution, and risk assessments. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: 5+ years of experience in systems administration, with increasing responsibility and exposure to enterprise infrastructure. Deep expertise in Microsoft Azure, including networking, identity, policy enforcement, and resource automation. Proven experience with Microsoft 365 administration (Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams, AAD Connect). Strong proficiency with device lifecycle and compliance management using JAMF (macOS) and Intune (Windows). Hands-on experience implementing and managing endpoint protection platforms such as CrowdStrike and ThreatLocker. Demonstrated capability in developing and executing incident response processes, conducting post-incident reviews, and implementing corrective actions. Proficiency in scripting languages (PowerShell, Bash) and workflow platforms (Zapier, Pipefy) to drive automation. Clear understanding of security frameworks and best practices (e.g., NIST, CIS benchmarks, Zero Trust). Exceptional problem-solving and analytical skills; able to triage and resolve issues independently under pressure. Effective communicator able to present technical risks and recommendations to non-technical stakeholders.
