A rapidly growing, award-winning cybersecurity company is seeking a hands-on DevOps Team Leader to join its engineering organization. In this role, you’ll take charge of the deployment, orchestration, and secure operations of advanced identity and security solutions. This is a hybrid position, requiring three days per week in-office, based in Dallas Texas. This is a player-coach opportunity: you’ll lead a global DevOps team while remaining deeply involved in technical delivery and the ongoing development of the company’s DevOps strategy. The role blends leadership, mentorship, and hands-on engineering. What You’ll Be Doing • Lead design and optimization of build and release pipelines. • Conduct 1:1s, performance reviews, and support team development. • Architect cloud deployment strategies focused on performance and cost-efficiency. • Review infrastructure code, pipelines, and documentation to ensure best practices. • Train teams in Azure DevOps, Git workflows, and DevOps methodologies. • Champion DevOps principles across engineering and IT. • Collaborate with Infrastructure and Security teams on deployment and support. • Create and maintain documentation for operational clarity and consistency. • Represent the DevOps team in cross-functional meetings and strategic planning. Key Responsibilities Infrastructure & Cloud Operations • Design and manage Microsoft Azure infrastructure using Terraform and Terragrunt. • Operate and maintain AKS (Azure Kubernetes Service) clusters with Istio. • Oversee Azure resources (networking, Key Vault, Blob Storage, CosmosDB). • Manage and configure OpenSearch clusters for logging and data indexing. DevOps & Automation • Lead CI/CD pipeline development using Azure DevOps. • Maintain GitOps workflows with ArgoCD. • Develop and maintain automation scripts (primarily Bash). Security & Compliance • Implement Zero Trust architecture using Azure PIM and RBAC. • Configure and manage Web Application Firewalls (WAFs). Monitoring & Reliability • Deploy observability tools: OpenTelemetry, Azure Monitor, Application Insights. • Define and maintain SLAs, SLOs, and error budgets. Required Qualifications • 5+ years of experience in DevOps or SRE roles in cloud-native or SaaS environments. • 2+ years of team leadership experience, including direct people management. • Deep experience with Microsoft Azure infrastructure and services. • Hands-on expertise in: • Terraform, Terragrunt • Kubernetes (AKS), Helm • Istio service mesh • ArgoCD and GitOps workflows • CI/CD using Azure DevOps • Zero Trust security (PIM, RBAC) • Monitoring/Observability: OpenTelemetry, Prometheus, Grafana, Azure Monitor • Bash scripting, with working knowledge of Python or Go Preferred Qualifications • Experience with Kafka or other event-driven systems. • Expertise in OpenSearch or Elasticsearch. • Strong understanding of CosmosDB performance tuning. • Familiarity with Azure services such as API Management, Logic Apps, etc. #LI-CS3
