We are looking for an midlevel-experienced Email Security Engineer with expertise in Proofpoint solutions and Azure to join our team in Chicago, IL. In role, you will play a pivotal part in safeguarding our organization against advanced email-based threats, ensuring seamless mail flow, and enhancing overall email security protocols. Responsibilities: • Analyze and resolve complex technical issues related to email flow, routing, encryption, and quarantines to ensure secure communication. • Monitor and respond to alerts, logs, and dashboards within Proofpoint systems to mitigate phishing, malware, and impersonation threats. • Deploy and maintain Proofpoint Essentials, integrating its features with organizational systems and conducting security awareness training. • Oversee and execute Proofpoint-related projects, including upgrades, feature rollouts, and system enhancements. • Develop and provide training sessions and documentation for IT teams and end users to maximize the effectiveness of Proofpoint security tools. • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align email security measures with broader enterprise cybersecurity strategies. • Conduct regular assessments of Proofpoint configurations to ensure optimal performance and compliance with security standards. • Stay updated on emerging email security threats and recommend proactive measures to address vulnerabilities. Requirements • 5-7 years experience • Proven expertise in managing and troubleshooting Proofpoint email security solutions. • Strong background in cybersecurity, including knowledge of phishing, malware, and impersonation attack prevention. • Experience with enterprise-level email security protocols, encryption, and mail routing. • Familiarity with Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) tools and processes. • Solid understanding of network security principles and application security practices. • Ability to lead projects and implement new features in email security systems. • Excellent communication skills for training and collaboration with IT teams and end users. • Demonstrated ability to analyze logs and alerts to detect and mitigate security threats.
