Your Next Opportunity The Engineering Team Lead is an engineering management position responsible for providing technical engineering oversight and design team management for engineering projects for which they are assigned. This technical management role is responsible for financial, resource allocation, logistic and technical leadership of projects and has the capability to mentor and train staff under their supervision. What You’ll Do • Specialize in Medium Voltage customer substation design • Interfacing with Bay Area Utilities, incorporating utility requirements, interconnect agreements & service requests • Understand project requirements and develop a design for the work requested • Prepare and oversee work plans for engineering and production resources • Oversee Engineers, Designers and Modeling staff assigned to team or project work • Communicate with Project Manager (PM) or Executive regarding effort required to accomplish expected deliverables and project support; develop requests for additional services for submittal to the PM or Owner • Lead the Engineering CAC effort and interaction with the project PM • Resolve complex problems such as conflicting design requirements, unsuitability of conventional materials, difficult coordination requirements • Supervise coordination of the project with city, state, and county officials and other regulatory agencies • Attend project design meetings with the overall Design Build Team • Conduct job site visits to review installation or assess current conditions • Perform Value Engineering studies • Act as Engineer of Record for projects within their responsibility • Perform other duties as assigned within the business unit What You Bring to Us • Bachelor's Degree in engineering, architectural engineering, or construction sciences • Minimum 8 years of engineering experience • Licensed US‑based Professional Engineer (P.E.) required • Experience with BESS is a plus • Field experience strongly recommended • Combination of education, training, and relevant experience acceptable Competencies • Leadership – Ability to lead a diverse team to accomplish a goal • Communication – Fluency in oral and written formats • Teamwork – Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse group to deliver extraordinary results What You’ll Need to Be Successful • Knowledge of engineering processes and calculations: load calculations, equipment layout, distribution, lighting layout, power and lighting controls, utility coordination, grounding, value engineering, applicable codes and standards • Working knowledge of equipment and system testing and commissioning • Ability to assume responsibility, interface, and coordinate with others • Ability to analyze and resolve complex engineering problems • Oversee Electrical System Studies: Short Circuit, Overcurrent Protection, Arc Flash, Voltage Drop, Underground Thermal Calculations • Management skills: work planning, resource management, staff oversight, staff development and advancement planning • Knowledge of electrical construction sufficient to understand design package execution • Fluency with local Building and Electrical Codes • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Oracle • Prioritize and manage multiple tasks, adapting to changing requirements with a positive attitude • Effective oral and written communication skills • Self‑motivated, proactive, and an effective team player • Professional interaction with all employee levels, vendors, clients, and trade partners Travel • Up to 25% (does not include local field visits) Working Conditions • General environment: sitting, standing, walking, typing, carrying, pushing, bending; primarily indoors with fluorescent lighting and air conditioning • Noise level typically low to medium; can be loud on job site • Occasional lifting up to 30 lbs • Full ADA compliance; reasonable accommodations available to qualified disabled applicants and employees Rosendin Electric is committed to creating a diverse environment and is proud to be an Equal Opportunity Employer.
