Title: System Administrator Location: Orlando, FL Duration: Contract to Hire Compensation: $35-40/hour Work Requirements: US Citizen, GC Holders or Authorized to Work in the U.S. System Administrator Responsibilities: Install, configure, and maintain servers, workstations, network devices, and other IT infrastructure components. Monitor and manage system performance, ensuring optimal performance and availability. Administer user accounts, permissions, and access rights across various platforms and applications. Perform regular system backups and ensure data integrity and disaster recovery readiness. Identify and resolve hardware, software, and network issues promptly to minimize downtime and ensure smooth operations. Implement and maintain security measures to safeguard the organization's IT assets and data from unauthorized access and potential threats. Collaborate with the IT team to plan and implement system upgrades, updates, and patches to keep the infrastructure current and secure. Respond to and resolve user support requests, providing timely and effective technical assistance. Conduct system performance analysis and capacity planning to anticipate future requirements and recommend appropriate upgrades. Monitor network traffic and implement measures to optimize performance and prevent potential security breaches. Collaborate with third-party vendors and service providers to troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues. Document system configurations, processes, and procedures to ensure clear and organized information for reference and training. Stay up to date with industry trends, best practices, and advancements in IT system administration. Requirements: Proven experience as an IT System Administrator or in a similar role. Strong knowledge of server operating systems (e.g., Windows Server, Linux) and networking technologies (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN). Familiarity with virtualization technologies and cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Office 365) is a plus. Hands-on experience with Active Directory, group policies, and user management. Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell) in automation and system management tasks. Understanding backup and disaster recovery methodologies and tools. Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with keen attention to detail. Strong communication and interpersonal skills to provide effective technical support to end-users.
