The Data Processing Unit (DPU) team brings together state-of-the-art software and hardware expertise to create a highly programmable and high-performance ASIC with the capability to efficiently handle large data streams. As a Manager for Security within the Data Processing Unit (DPU) group, you will partner closely with other highly experienced and deeply technical engineers to plan and deliver the DPU’s integration with the broader Azure ecosystem and drive the evolution of the system forward. You will also provide guidance and management for less-experienced team members, fostering growth while ensuring alignment with the broader Azure ecosystem and technical strategies while enabling the operationalization of the DPU’s security workflows. Responsibilities • Partner with cross-functional stakeholders to define the future of the DPU’s secure enclave • Develop security & provisioning processes for the DPU’s integration in the Azure ecosystem • Operationalize security workflows for the DPU • Drive runtime security services in the DPU Qualifications Required Qualifications: • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 6+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python • OR equivalent experience. • 2+ years leading engineering development teams • 4+ years experience working on security projects, such as a secure enclave or security accelerator Other Requirements • Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter. Preferred Qualifications • 4+ years developing projects at scale • Experience operationalizing workflows around signing, attestation • Familiarity with certification processes such as FIPS 140-3 • Understanding of quantum-resistant algorithms and their implementation in secure systems • Proven ability to collaborate with other technical experts on complex, mission-critical initiatives, balancing strategic direction with respect to deep technical expertise. Software Engineering M5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $139,900 - $274,800 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $188,000 - $304,200 per year.
