BI and Data Analytics Engineer Overview ShipNetwork presents an exciting opportunity to join the leader in eCommerce order fulfillment solutions. Based in Las Vegas, ShipNetwork encompasses a national network of operating facilities, providing online retailers and consumers with fast, accurate, and efficient distribution solutions for borderless eCommerce. Central to the duties of this role are the design, develop, and maintain data models, dashboards, and reporting solutions that drive actionable insights across the organization. You will also be responsible for transforming raw data into clean, well-modeled datasets that are ready for analysis and reporting. This role requires a strong foundation in SQL, data modeling, and modern ELT practices, as well as a collaborative mindset to work closely with, business analysts, PMO and business stakeholders. To be successful, this individual is required to possess or acquire a solid understanding of the existing data across multiple systems, an understanding of end-user workflow, a knack for problem-solving, and a passion for bringing vision to reality. Responsibilities • Lead the design, implementation, and maintenance of enterprise BI solutions • Develop advanced data models and semantic layers to support complex reporting needs • Build and optimize data models that support reporting and analytics needs • Write and maintain SQL queries for reporting and analysis • Build, optimize, and manage ETL/ELT pipelines and transformations • Create and maintain connections to data sources, ensuring data integrity and optimal performance. • Drive BI platform administration, including governance, security, and performance tuning • Establish and enforce data quality and reporting standards • Design, develop, and maintain interactive and visually appealing Power BI dashboards that provide meaningful insights to various stakeholders • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and translate them into effective data visualizations and reports • Create detailed business requirement documents, use cases, and functional specifications, and facilitate communication between technical and non-technical teams • Collaborate with stakeholders to elicit, document, and analyze business requirements, ensuring a clear understanding of project objectives and goals • Implement best practices for data modeling, ensuring efficient and effective data transformation and aggregation processes • Stay updated with industry trends and advancements in Power BI and AI/ML related technologies to continuously improve and optimize data model designs and functionalities Qualifications • 3+ years of experience in analytics engineering, data engineering, or BI development • Proficiency in SQL and experience with dbt (or similar transformation frameworks) • Hands-on experience with Snowflake or other cloud data warehouses • Familiarity with ELT tools such as Matillion, Airflow, Microsoft SSIS or similar • Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) • Strong understanding of dimensional modeling, data governance, and testing best practices • Good and working communication skills and a collaborative, team-first attitude • Exposure to Python for scripting and automation • Familiarity with Git based workflows and CI/CD for analytics code • Snowflake and/or Azure cloud platform certifications are a plus • Understanding of data privacy, security, and compliance in analytics environments • Flexibility to accommodate occasional travel • Five years of recent experience in a commensurate role • College degree or commensurate professional experience
