The data manager will also play a key role with Environmental influences on Child Health Outcomes (ECHO) Institutional Development and Data Coordinating Center (ISPCTN DCOC) in ensuring high-quality data management across multi-site clinical research studies. This position will serve as the primary point of contact between the DCOC and the participating ISPCTN sites for all data-related activities.Job Description: Job Duties Outlined: • Serve as the primary data management liaison with participating clinical sites. • Respond to site inquiries and provide timely resolution for data-related issues, including electronic data capture (EDC) access, data entry, and query management. • Lead the development and maintenance of study-specific data dictionaries and case report forms (CRFs), ensuring alignment with protocol requirements and standardized data elements. • Coordinate with stakeholders to incorporate feedback and maintain consistency across studies. • Develop and maintain SOPs and workflows related to data management, EDC use, and site communication. • Ensure SOPs are current, aligned with best practices, and effectively implemented across the consortium. • Create reports in CRIS Velos and/or Redcap. • Create electronic case report forms (eCRFs). • Develop or "code" applications to enhance business decision-making capabilities. • Analyze existing databases, reports, and processes for opportunities to automate further or simplify utilizing BI tools. • Analyze data within various databases utilizing various BI tools and Reporting Tools to inform business decisions and actions. • Write database documentation, including data standards, procedures, and definitions for the data dictionary. • Train pertinent staff and other end-users as needed on BI Applications, and trains other BI Specialists on various BI Tools. • Troubleshoot user issues with the BI Applications in a timely and effective manner. • Responsible for reviewing and maintaining Standard Operating Procedures and the change control documents in collaboration with the Training and Education Department. • Remain compliant with federal and other regulatory guidelines as well as general system administration and oversight in cooperation with the Director of Research I.T. • Prepare reports, manuscripts, and grant applications for investigators under the supervision of a Biostatistics & Data Science member. • Develop and maintain Python and R pipelines for data cleaning, preprocessing, and structuring. • Build and update Shiny applications to facilitate interactive data visualization and reporting. • Review, preprocess, and analyze neuroimaging data, including MRI, fMRI, and PET modalities. • Develop pipelines for imaging data harmonization, feature extraction, and quality assurance. • Collaborate with neuroimaging investigators to integrate imaging-derived biomarkers with clinical and behavioral datasets. • Support reproducible research by maintaining version-controlled analytic workflows and adhering to FAIR data principles This job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job. Required Qualifications Work Experience: • 6 years of experience in Computer Science or Information Technology. Education may be substituted for experience on a year-for-year basis. • Experience with troubleshooting data-related issues using logical problem-solving methods and the process of elimination. Proficiency with Microsoft Office products or equivalent. • Experience working in a Windows environment. • Experience in Relational databases. • Experience in creating, conducting training, and documenting Metadata, such as data dictionaries that are utilized for research. Preferred Qualifications Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related field with at least 2 years of relevant experience. Work Experience: • Two years of experience in academic or private health-related research environments. • Experience developing Tableau and Shiny R dashboards. • Experience programming in at least one higher-level language (C, C++, Java). • Experience with software integration, such as LDAP and Active Directory. PL/SQL, SQL functions, triggers, complex queries, SQL reports. • Experience working with relational databases such as Oracle, MySQL, SQL Server, and Business Intelligence tools. • Experience with database migration, database development, database maintenance, performance tuning, optimization, and setting up and managing database connections. • Experience with the automation of the ETL process between databases. • Experience in R, Python, Tableau, or SAS. • Experience working in a LINUX/UNIX environment.
