Cloud Database Administrator (Azure) Pay Range: $115,000.00 To $140,000.00 Annually Location: Washington, DC Job Summary PrideStaff is seeking an experienced and dedicated Cloud Database Administrator (Azure) to support the application and delivery of cloud-related database services and products for our federal clients. This role is crucial for ensuring the stability, performance, and security of databases deployed in both public and private cloud platforms, primarily within the Azure environment. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in cloud technologies, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), networking, and security. Essential Duties and Responsibilities · Provide expert database support for cloud services, including monitoring, incident response, and resolution. · Ensure the availability, reliability, security, and performance of databases. · Promptly report the status of databases, incidents, and performance metrics to stakeholders and owners. · Responsible and accountable for following up on incidents, reporting, and releasing problems through defined management channels. · Implement and manage cloud-related services, including IaC, cloud storage, and cloud networking. · Configure and maintain critical networking components such as Cloud vNets, Network Security Groups/ACLs, Load Balancers, Traffic Managers, firewalls, peering, and private endpoints. · Design and implement solutions for high availability, replication, backup and restore/recovery, and disaster recovery of databases in a hybrid cloud. · Automate infrastructure setup and application deployment using CI/CD practices and tools. · Ensure databases adhere to cloud-based security tools, best practices, and policies, protecting all layers of the application stack. Required Qualifications · Education: Bachelor of Arts (BA) or Bachelor of Science (BS) in Computer Science or a related technical field. · Cloud Configuration: 5-7 years of experience in setting up and configuring cloud services, specifically Microsoft Azure. · IaC Experience: 5-7 years of hands-on experience with Terraform. · Migration Experience: 5+ years of experience in migrating on-premise databases to cloud platforms, particularly Azure. · Core Cloud Skills: Experience with cloud technologies, cloud services, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), cloud storage, cloud networking, and cloud security. · Advanced Networking: Extensive experience with Cloud vNets, Network Security Groups/ACLs, Load Balancers, Traffic Managers, firewalls, peering, and private endpoints. · Database Operations: Experience with high availability, replication, backup and restore/recovery, disaster recovery, and monitoring of databases in a hybrid cloud. · Scripting: Extensive experience with cloud database services and proficiency in programming languages such as Python and Shell Scripting. · Automation/CI/CD: Experience automating infrastructure setup and application deployment using best practices of CI/CD with tools such as Ansible, Jenkins, and Terraform. · Security: Knowledge of cloud-based security tools, best practices, and policies, including demonstrated experience protecting all layers of the application stack. · Eligibility: Must be a US Citizen and clearable. Preferred Qualifications · Previous experience working as a Government contractor. · Possession of Microsoft Azure certifications (e.g., Azure Database Administrator Associate) is highly desirable.
