Job Overview: Our client is seeking a detail-oriented Senior Accounting Specialist to join their team and take on the responsibility of handling GL maintenance, fixed assets, AP/AR, month-end close, and reporting. The ideal candidate is analytical, organized, and thrives in a fast-paced setting. Key Responsibilities: • Prepare and post journal entries for prepaid expenses, depreciation, and interest. • Reconcile critical accounts including bank and credit card statements, AP/AR, client prepayments, and intercompany balances. • Ensure accuracy of financial data through tie-outs and reporting validation. • Process vendor invoices, EFT payments, ACH/check deposits, and apply payments to client accounts. • Monitor the AR inbox and collaborate with project managers or the A/E Controller to resolve inquiries. • Finalize and distribute monthly invoices and client statements; follow up on past-due accounts (90+ days). • Review and approve employee expense reports. • Support vendor onboarding, including W-9 and COI collection. • Maintain fixed asset schedules and record monthly depreciation. • Assist with job setups, project closings, and QA/QC processes. • Provide backup for client billing platforms. • Assist in managing subconsultant commitments and purchase orders. Qualifications: • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. • Minimum 3 years of experience in accounting or finance. • Solid understanding of GAAP and general ledger accounting. • Proficient in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite, SAP) and Microsoft Excel. • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
