Position Description Serco is seeking a Linux Principal Windows Systems Administrator to join our team supporting the Defense Systems sector at Kirtland Air Force Base in Albuquerque, New Mexico. The successful candidate will serve as a Linux System Administrator in a classified network environment supporting critical missions across the Engineering organization. In this role, you will: • Perform as a Linux System Administrator for a classified network. • Manage and maintain secure, minimally interrupted operations of Linux servers and workstations. • Install, harden, and patch Linux operating systems. • Develop presentations and technical recommendations. • Collaborate with systems administrators, network administrators, security teams, and software and hardware engineers. • Lift and move equipment weighing up to 40 pounds. • Work after hours and on weekends as needed to support operational requirements. • Travel occasionally to other customer or Northrop Grumman sites in support of troubleshooting, testing, and deployment activities. Qualifications • Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 3 years of experience, or Master's degree with a minimum of 1 year of experience; additional relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree. • IAM Level I certification (e.g., Security+ CE) or ability to obtain within 3 months of start date. • Must possess an active U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) Top Secret security clearance and be able to maintain it. • Ability to be cleared to Special Access Programs (SAP). • Experience managing Linux OS in a domain architecture. • Experience designing Linux domain architectures, including Active Directory, GPOs, Policies, and permissions. Additional desired experience and skills: • Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Information Systems or related field. • Experience managing systems within NISPOM Chapter 8, DCID 6/3-ICD 503, RMF, STIG, JAFAN, or JSIG environments. • Familiarity with Microsoft Active Directory, Group Policy Management, MS SQL, and WSUS. • Experience with servers and storage hardware installation and maintenance. • Strong knowledge of security vulnerability remediation, including hardening Linux and RedHat systems. • VMware and ESXi (6.x or higher) configuration and management experience. • Basic understanding of LAN and WAN networking, particularly in Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) environments. • Proficiency with SharePoint for documentation purposes. • DoD 8570/8140 Certification in a primary OS (Linux, Cisco).
