General Statement (Summary of duties & responsibilities): The Data Analyst serves as the data lead for the organization and is responsible for defining the requirements, metrics, and tables for the data warehouse. The incumbent works closely with business and technical stakeholders to ensure the data warehouse meets the needs of the organization. The Data Analyst leads the implementation of the organizations Reporting/Business Intelligence platform (Power BI) to identify and visualize mission critical data and works directly with the Systems Intelligence team to develop data visualizations and provide insights on current reporting methods. The incumbent takes the specifications created by architects/engineers and implements them in code, utilizing known best practices. Education & Work Experience Qualifications: 1. Bachelor of Science or Master of Science degree in the field of Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, or equivalent knowledge from an accredited university is required. 2. Five years of experience working with the Microsoft Business Intelligence Stack (Power BI, SSAS, and SSIS) 3. Minimum three years of extensive experience with Power BI 4. Experience with tools and languages SSAS, SSMS, Tabular Editor, and DAX. 5. Understanding of and experience with Agile delivery and Scrum ceremonies 6. Experience in the development of enterprise-wide reports and analytics using industry best practices (Experience with C# or Python is not required, but would be helpful) 7. Team-oriented with deep empathy and outstanding interpersonal skills 8. Must be able to work independently and maintain tight schedules. 9. Experience taking vague requirements and crystallizing them into valuable tools, metrics, or analysis. 10. Demonstrated experience as a creative problem solver with the humility to ask for help when needed 11. Must be able to work in an office and remote environment. 12. Self-starter with a strong sense of integrity and professional conduct 13. Ability to travel in light and commercial aircraft or drive his/her personal auto to meet all job duties and responsibilities. Current Drivers License required. Essential Job Functions: 1. Convert raw data into meaningful analysis using interactive, easy-to-understand Power BI dashboards and reports. 2. Establish and maintain data dictionary documentation and reporting standards. 3. Developing Power BI solutions by working with effective teams from multiple disciplines, leveraging technology standards and software development best practices. 4. Establish cadence for intake, design, and creation of reporting requests. Collaborate with infrastructure team when resource adjustments are needed. 5. Develop and conduct validation tests, as needed. 6. Utilize change management protocol when making any changes to production reporting to prevent disruption, loss of flow of information or other undesired outcome for the organization. 7. Operational requests prioritized and managed using Azure DevOps. 8. Reporting will be subject to review and correction by the Analytics team and as well as acceptance by the users of the system(s). 9. Keeps supervisor informed of emerging technologies and other resources needed to enhance productivity. Presents justification for all recommendations. 10. Translate business needs to technical specifications. 11. Collaborate with teams to integrate appropriate reporting based on system constraints. 12.
