Position Title: Network Administrator Payroll/Personnel Type: 12 Month Job #: 8819 Reports to: Chief Technology Officer Shift Length: 8 hours Union Eligibility: Not Eligible Salary: $75,000 Contract Eligibility: Not Eligible Position Summary The Network Administrator (Tech II) supports the configuration, administration, and security of the district’s information systems and cloud-based infrastructure. This position focuses on managing user identity, automation workflows, enterprise integrations, and system reliability across multiple district platforms. The administrator plays a key role in account provisioning, directory management, cybersecurity monitoring, and automation to improve operational efficiency and data integrity. Essential Functions • Systems and Directory Administration • Administer Microsoft 365, Active Directory, and Entra ID, including user provisioning, role-based access control (RBAC), and group policy management. • Manage system integration points between core enterprise systems (SIS, ERP, and device management platforms). • Support automation workflows for student and staff account creation, system onboarding/offboarding, and data synchronization between applications (e.g., via Power Automate, API, or SFTP processes). • Security and Compliance • Assist in implementing cybersecurity standards, including patch management, MFA enforcement, endpoint protection, and access auditing. • Monitor security logs and alerts; support incident response and vulnerability remediation in coordination with the Senior Network Administrator. • Ensure adherence to FERPA, CIPA, COPPA, and data governance standards in all automation and integration processes. • Systems Integration and Automation • Develop, document, and maintain scripts (PowerShell, SQL, Python, or similar) to automate administrative, reporting, and data synchronization tasks. • Write and optimize SQL queries and stored procedures to extract, analyze, or validate data from enterprise systems (e.g., SIS, ERP, or data warehouse). • Support integration between the district’s identity platforms and instructional or business applications (e.g., Clever, Apple School Manager, Mosyle, HR/ERP systems). • Collaborate with internal departments to optimize data flows, improve accuracy, and reduce manual data entry. • Infrastructure Support (Limited Scope) • Provide Tier II technical support for system and network performance, including troubleshooting account authentication, VPN access, and connectivity issues. • Assist with configuration and monitoring of virtualized servers and cloud environments. • Participate in network documentation, backup routines, and disaster recovery processes. • Contribute to IT modernization, automation, and security initiatives aligned with district innovation priorities. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft 365, Active Directory, Azure/Entra ID, and Group Policy management. • Proficiency in PowerShell, Python, and SQL for system automation, reporting, and data integration. • Understanding of IAM (Identity and Access Management) concepts and automation processes for user lifecycle management. • Familiarity with MDM environments (i.e., Mosyle, Absolute) and Apple School Manager integrations. • Awareness of cybersecurity best practices, including threat detection, MFA, and endpoint management. • Knowledge of data integration techniques, including REST APIs, SQL scripting, CSV/SFTP automations, and data transformation workflows. • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills, with the ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical audiences. • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. Experience • Minimum of 3–5 years of professional experience in systems or network administration. • Experience managing user accounts and permissions across Active Directory, Azure, or equivalent IAM systems. • Proven ability to automate processes using scripting, SQL queries, APIs, or integration tools. • Experience supporting cloud and hybrid environments (Microsoft 365, virtualized servers, cloud applications). • K–12, higher education, or public sector technology experience preferred. Education and Certifications • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field preferred; however, commensurate professional experience paired with relevant industry certifications may be considered in lieu of a formal degree. • Relevant Industry-Recognized Credentials (IRCs) preferred, such as: • CompTIA Network+ or Security+ • Microsoft 365 Administrator Associate (MS-102) • Microsoft Azure Administrator Associate (AZ-104) • Microsoft Power Platform App Maker (PL-100) or Data Analyst Associate (PL-300) • Cisco CCST Networking or equivalent certification Physical Requirements • Must be physically able to operate a motor vehicle and travel to school sites as needed. • May occasionally lift or transport equipment up to 25 pounds. Working Conditions and Environment • Work is routinely performed in a typical interior/office environment • Very limited or no exposure to physical risk • Occasional after-hours work required for upgrades or cybersecurity monitoring.
