Akkodis is seeking a Database Administrator for a Contract with a client in Las Vegas, NV. This role involves managing database installations, upgrades, and backups, while ensuring data integrity and supporting enterprise-wide architecture and recovery strategies. Rate Range: $45/hour to $50/hour; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors. Database Administrator job responsibilities include: • Manage SQL Server environments including installation, configuration, upgrades, patching, and migration across multiple versions (2012–2019+). • Ensure database performance and reliability through proactive monitoring, performance tuning, query optimization, and capacity planning. • Implement and maintain backup, recovery, and high availability strategies to ensure data integrity and disaster recovery readiness. • Support development and production environments by deploying approved changes, managing change control, and collaborating with development teams. • Maintain database security and compliance by enforcing access controls, auditing, and aligning with corporate policies and industry standards. • Create and maintain documentation for database architecture, configurations, and operational procedures to support knowledge sharing and compliance. Required Qualifications: • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field. • 8–10 years of hands-on experience in SQL Server database administration. • Proven expertise in managing SQL Server environments including performance tuning, backup/recovery, and high availability. • Certification in Microsoft SQL Server (e.g., MCDBA) and experience with BI tools like SSIS, SSRS, and SSAS.
