Senior DevOps Engineer San Francisco Bay Area, CA (Hybrid) 6+ Months Position Overview: We are expanding our platform and seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer with over 7 years of experience to join our engineering team. Your primary focus will be on building, consolidating and migrating Kubernetes workloads. Collaborating closely with Platform Engineers, Architects, and Developer Experience Advocates, you will play a crucial role in designing, implementing, and maintaining the technical infrastructure that supports our applications and services. This position requires technical expertise, self-motivation, and the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams at Roche. Key Responsibilities: Design, develop, and implement scalable and reliable infrastructure solutions to support organizational applications and services. Enhance and maintain the CORE capabilities and features of the platform. Work collaboratively with architects and stakeholders to ensure technology goals align with the roadmap. Manage and maintain the GCS container orchestration platform, Nebula. Consolidate workloads across multiple AWS accounts and EKS clusters. Provide expert guidance to engineers and development teams, acting as a force multiplier by promoting best practices, tools, and methodologies. Promote an "Everything-as-code" approach to peers. Stay informed about industry trends and recommend new tools, technologies, and services to enhance the development team's capabilities. Successful candidates will have: Ability to break down complex processes into manageable components and deliver effectively. Strong inclination towards automation wherever applicable. Enthusiasm for hands-on work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. Willingness to contribute and assist wherever necessary. Embrace a "fail-fast & fix-fast" mind-set. Must have Skills: Expertise with AWS & EKS Proficiency in Terraform - Infrastructure as Code (IAC) Declarative management tools - Arced, Strong experience with Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery tools such as GitLab, GitHub Actions, etc. Essential Skills: Deep understanding of cloud platforms and services (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform). Experience in scripting with Python or Go. Extensive experience with monitoring and observability tools like Prometheus, Grafana, Data dog, AppDynamics, Open Telemetry. Strong experience with Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery tools such as GitLab, GitHub Actions, etc. Demonstrated expertise in DevSecOps. Proven ability to use cloud-native tools and services to create solutions that deliver value to end-users (e.g., ECS, Fargate, Lambda, etc.).
