With over 25 years of experience, HOS provides training, consulting, and support on the latest project management software, including the full Atlassian suite and AWS. The company empowers clients to define processes, improve collaboration, and streamline project and portfolio growth and performance. Role Description High Order Solutions is looking for a highly experienced Atlassian Administrator who can support our customers Atlassian Suites. Primarily Jira & Confluence on Datacenter and Cloud versions but experience on other products like Jira Align, Bitbucket, GitLab, GitHub will be given preference. Not to mention all of the more prevalent Atlassian add-ons ("apps") like ScriptRunner, Xray, Tempo, etc. This team member will play an integral role in providing customized implementations to fit our customer’s requirements. The ideal individual will be comfortable working with and receiving input from, all levels, quickly assess the existing environment and then come up with what the most effective solution might be. The role requires the individual to be able to evangelize best practices, while always keeping in mind that customers may not be ready to make the leap to become a best-of-breed shop...yet. This requires an ability to wear many other hats than the technical; that of coach, consultant, solutionist, etc., remaining patient throughout. The perfect candidate will work with more than one customer at a time, understand the customer's needs and wants, help them understand the difference, and then develop a long term roadmap that balances growth, improvement, effectiveness & efficiency with break/fix based on the customer's technical & process maturity. To be clear, we do not consider Project Administrators or "Power Users" as sufficient experience to apply for this job. If you have not completed a majority of the following tasks in production environments, we are sorry, but you're not ready. For DataCenter instances: • Provision and Configure a virtual environment instance and server operating system to host an Atlassian Suite • Install and configure the back end database to support an Atlassian Suite • Install and configure the server security (SSL certs) and server proxy software (i.e., Apache, Nginx) • Install and configure Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket, etc. as well as connectivity between each • Perform test upgrades in a sandbox environment, thoroughly document the entire process, and then perform a flawless upgrade to the production instance For Cloud and DataCenter instances: • Plan and implement the customer's group, user, and role security plans and implement it within their suite • Plan and build a backup and data retention framework utilizing both Atlassian's tools as well as the hosting environments capabilities (AWS, Azure, Atlassian Addons, etc.) • Build and customize Jira projects, JSM projects & portals, Confluence KBs, Bitbucket Projects/Repos, shared configuration schemes, and automations And this should only be the beginning of your experience. We haven't even listed migrations, integrations, add-ons, or performance tweaking. A Word of Warning regarding extra long resumes and "Fibbing": Too many times we receive resumes from candidates who claim to have dozens to hundreds of administrator work related bullets in hopes a computer has screened their resume in order to get them an interview. A "22+ page" resume full of bullets listing simple tasks that all administrators should already know, like "Capable of creating Jira tickets" or "Experienced at adding users", is the quickest way to get your resume rejected. Your resume should be about the Quality of your experience, not the Quantity of your bullets. In other words, don't waste our time or yours. A human is manually reviewing these resumes and we are Certified Atlassians who do this job every day. Please keep your resume to a minimum with only relevant information. Positions: Depending on experience level, individuals may qualify for part-time to full-time positions as 1099 contractors, W2 employees or salaried consultants. About Remote Work: We do have some customers that allow remote work but most are hybrid with at least 50% of your work time either on-site with the customer or on-site in our offices.
