Overview We are seeking a skilled Business Intelligence Developer to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will leverage your expertise in data analysis and software development to create innovative solutions that enhance our business intelligence capabilities. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to design, develop, and implement data-driven strategies that support decision-making processes and drive organizational success. The BI Developer is responsible for developing, maintaining, and leading reporting initiatives that drive business decisions across various domains, with a primary focus on finance. This role requires independent work using Power BI, Microsoft Dynamics, and SQL servers to create insightful analytics and visualizations. The position demands a strategic thinker who can translate complex business needs into effective reporting solutions. Essential Functions Report Development and Maintenance · Develop and maintain comprehensive dashboards, reports, and visualizations that track KPIs and business metrics · Maintain legacy reports and migrate them to modern systems · Work with both real-time and historical data · Create and maintain data models and standardized metrics that support reporting and analysis needs Stakeholder Collaboration and Problem Solving · Collaborate with stakeholders to understand and refine reporting needs · Analyze report requests to identify underlying business problems · Develop appropriate solutions based on true business needs Data Management and Optimization · Ensure data accuracy and integrity in all reports · Optimize queries and improve report performance · Explore ways to improve efficiency through automation and process streamlining · Apply basic data governance and security principles · Support data governance and documentation initiatives Training and Mentorship · Stay current with industry trends, tools, and best practices · Train and support other users in effectively utilizing reports · Mentor a small group in report creation techniques Departmental Collaboration · Occasionally assist with basic IT operations as needed · Foster positive relationships with peers across all departments · Serve as an ambassador for the Information Systems department, promoting its value and services · Maintain a professional demeanor and effectively communicate technical concepts to non-technical staff · Ability to translate business requirements into technical specifications Required Qualifications · Proven experience as a Business Intelligence Developer, capable of working independently · Proficiency in SQL and Power BI · Experience maintaining legacy SQL reporting tools · Strong data modeling and database design skills · Experience with ETL processes · Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities · Strong communication skills · Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience · Strong understanding of finance reporting, with knowledge of other business domains · Ability to lift and move up to 25 lbs occasionally Preferred Qualifications · Relevant industry certifications (e.g., Microsoft Certified: Power BI Data Analyst Associate) · Experience with Python programming · Familiarity with additional Microsoft tools and technologies Work Environment · Initial on-site work, transitioning to a hybrid model after probation period Key Competencies · Strategic thinking and problem-solving · Clear and effective communication · Teamwork and collaboration · Customer service orientation · Adaptability and flexibility · Technical proficiency · Attention to detail Performance Metrics · Report adoption rates · Stakeholder satisfaction scores · Data quality improvements · Report delivery efficiency · Process Automation · Cost Savings Job Type: Full-time Pay: $115,000.00 - $130,000.00 per year Benefits: • Dental insurance • Health insurance • Paid time off • Vision insurance Schedule: • 8 hour shift Work Location: Hybrid remote in Santa Fe Springs, CA 90670
