Azure Solutions Engineer/Lead/Architect Saint Pual, MN / Minneapolis, MN (Onsite Job) Contract to Permanent Position The Opportunity We're seeking a strategic, hands-on Azure Platform Lead to own application development on Azure and guide the platform's architecture, governance, and DevOps practices. The ideal hire blends full-stack engineering on Azure with advanced Power Platform (Power Apps/Power Automate/Dataverse) expertise and can operate as a solution architect who still loves to build. What You'll Do Own the Azure platform roadmap: reference architectures, landing zones, guardrails, cost management, and governance. Design & build scalable solutions on Azure (App Services, Functions, AKS or containers, API Management, Service Bus/Event Grid, Azure SQL/Storage). Stand up/optimize DevOps: repos/branching, pipelines, environments, test automation, blue-green/rolling deploys via Azure DevOps or GitHub. Lead Power Platform enablement: advanced model-driven/canvas apps, ALM, solutioning, connectors, environment strategy, and COE patterns. Reliability & security: monitoring/alerting, SLOs, incident response, Key Vault, Entra ID (AAD), network design (VNets, private endpoints). Coach & collaborate with product, security, and business stakeholders; mentor engineers; set engineering standards. Document clearly: patterns, playbooks, and "how-to" guides others can reuse. What You Bring 8+ years in modern application engineering, 5+ years deep on Azure. Proven solution architecture across app, data, integration, security, and networking pillars. Strong DevOps/IaC: Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions; Bicep/Terraform; CLI/PowerShell. Advanced Power Platform experience (Power Apps/Automate, Dataverse, ALM). Proficiency in at least one core language (e.g., .NET/C#, , or Python). Excellent communication; ability to influence, simplify, and ship. Nice to Have API design at scale (API Management), event-driven patterns, caching. FinOps/cost optimization in Azure. Data integration (Data Factory/Fabric), observability (App Insights/Log Analytics). Experience establishing a Power Platform Center of Excellence.
