Job Description: As a Database Administrator, you will bring both technical proficiency and strategic thinking to manage and optimize enterprise-level database systems. You will lead initiatives focused on performance tuning, system integrity, security compliance, and cross-functional collaboration to support the client's mission-critical systems. Key Responsibilities: • Design, install, configure, and maintain enterprise-level database systems (SQL Server, Oracle, etc.) • Monitor database performance, tune queries and indexes, and manage storage to ensure optimal performance and uptime • Ensure data integrity, security, and backup/recovery processes meet organizational and regulatory requirements • Develop and maintain documentation related to database architecture, standards, and procedures • Lead initiatives related to database migrations, upgrades, and consolidations • Collaborate with developers, data analysts, system administrators, and other IT staff to support application development and data integration • Configure environment setups and IIS settings for application security and performance • Automate routine tasks using scripting languages such as ETL, PowerShell, or cron jobs • Manage network demands and coordinate with providers to ensure compliance with state government regulatory standards • Participate in capacity planning and disaster recovery strategy development and testing • Provide 24/7 support for mission-critical systems as needed • Ensure compliance with data governance and data privacy regulations Required Skills, Experiences, Education, and Competencies: • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field • Proficiency with Microsoft SQL • Familiarity with Windows Server and Linux/Unix environments • Experience in shell scripting, PowerShell, or similar scripting for automation • Knowledge of backup/recovery tools and third-party solutions • Ability to optimize queries and server resources for performance tuning • Understanding of security controls, encryption, and auditing practices • Analytical thinking and problem-solving skills • Excellent verbal and written communication skills • Strong ability to manage multiple priorities and work under pressure • Effective collaboration and leadership capabilities • Preferred certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator Associate, Microsoft SQL Server • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices • Experience with .NET programming (C#), network firewalls, PowerApps, Power BI Services, and Power Automate The hourly range for roles of this nature are $40.00 to $75.00/hr.
