Job Title: DevOps Architect / Senior Technical Specialist (Azure Cloud) Location: Remote (Onsite presence as needed) Duration: 12 Months Job Type: Contract Job Overview: A leading Investment Office is seeking a DevOps Architect / Senior Technical Specialist (Azure Cloud) to support existing and newly proposed solutions within their cloud environment. The ideal consultant will bring advanced cloud architecture expertise to assist in infrastructure design, automation, governance, and knowledge transfer initiatives, ensuring optimal performance and scalability of cloud solutions. Key Responsibilities: Deliverable 1: Cloud Infrastructure Design and Implementation Plan • Design a scalable, secure, and reliable Azure-based infrastructure aligned with the Central Data Platform Hub and Spoke Enablement framework. • Develop a migration strategy for on-premises to cloud transition. • Identify and integrate suitable cloud services (e.g., Azure, Snowflake). • Leverage Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principles using Terraform for consistent and repeatable deployments. • Ensure high availability, performance, and cost efficiency. Deliverable 2: Infrastructure Automation and Governance Framework • Build an automation framework for provisioning, deploying, and managing cloud infrastructure. • Develop Terraform-based IaC templates. • Implement robust monitoring, logging, and alerting solutions. • Establish a governance framework covering: • Security and compliance (GDPR, SOC 2) • Role-based access controls • Data encryption • Standardized data sharing protocols Deliverable 3: Knowledge Transfer and Operational Support • Provide comprehensive training and documentation for internal teams. • Develop runbooks, infrastructure diagrams, and troubleshooting guides. • Conduct hands-on sessions for managing Terraform templates and automation pipelines. • Deliver an operational support plan ensuring infrastructure alignment with long-term data strategy. Required Skills & Experience: • 5+ years experience with Git and code pipelines • 3+ years experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Azure or AWS • 5+ years experience with automation tools such as Ansible • 5+ years experience in Cloud-based Disaster Recovery methodologies • Strong communication and documentation skills for knowledge transfer and support delivery
