Midwest Heritage Bank Job Title: Financial Data Analyst Department: Banking FLSA: Exempt General Function: We are seeking a highly analytical and detail-oriented Financial Data Analyst to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for gathering, analyzing, and interpreting financial data to help drive strategic business decisions. You will work closely with finance, operations, and leadership teams to develop financial models, maintain dashboards, generate reports, and identify trends to support financial planning, forecasting, and performance analysis. Reporting Relations: Accountable and Reports to: Senior Vice President, Controller Positions that Report to you: None Primary Duties and Responsibilities: • Collect, organize, and analyze financial data from various sources. • Developing and implement databases and data collection systems. • Assist parent company with the development of a data warehouse for Midwest Heritage. • Prepare dashboards, reports, and presentations for senior management. • Maintain monthly/quarterly/annual reports and dashboards. • Investigate key business drivers for expense variances, providing analytical insight, monitoring and improving the current financial systems in place. • Use technical skills to perform financial research, calculations, and forecasts. • Build data analytics to tackle recurring business questions and challenges. • Collect and analyze financial data to interpret trends or patterns in complex data sets. • Generate ideas and develop techniques to assist distribution of information more effectively. • Protect organization’s value by keeping information confidential. • Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities. • Assist in ad hoc financial analysis and special projects as needed. Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Worker Characteristics: • Proficiency in Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, financial modeling) and data visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau, or similar). • Commitment to the Midwest Heritage mission and willingness to promote the values of the organization. • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines. • Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills. • Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently or in a team. • Effective communication skills with the ability to present complex data clearly. • Experience with machine learning or artificial intelligence tools is a plus. Education and Experience: • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business analytics or related field. • 2+ years of experience in financial analysis, business intelligence, or a similar role preferred. Physical Requirements: • This position is classified sedentary/light and requires the ability to sit for long periods of time. • Visual requirements include: ability to see detail at near range with or without correction. • Must be able to perform the following physical activities: sitting for long periods, talking (in person and by telephone), hearing and repetitive motions. Working Conditions: • The duties of this position are normally performed in a general office setting. • There is frequent pressure to meet deadlines and handle multiple projects in a day. Equipment Used to Perform Job: Computer (PC with Microsoft Office programs), telephone, calculator, telephone, copier, fax, and printer. Contacts: This position works with Midwest Heritage employees, bank customers, Hy-Vee employees, vendors and outside agents doing direct business with Midwest Heritage.
