Top skills required:Vulnerability AssessmentKennaAzureAzure Cloud PatchingSummary:We are seeking a mid-level Azure Cloud Infrastructure Patching Specialist to lead the planning, coordination, and execution of patching activities for our Azure-based cloud infrastructure.This individual will play a critical role in ensuring the security, stability, and compliance of our cloud environment by managing and applying updates to virtual machines, servers, and other Azure resources.Key Responsibilities:Patching Management:Plan, schedule, and execute patching activities for Azure cloud infrastructure, including virtual machines, containers, and managed services.Ensure timely application of security updates and patches to meet compliance requirements.Implement automated patching solutions using Azure Update Management or other tools.Infrastructure Assessment:Assess the infrastructure to identify patching needs and prioritize resources based on criticality.Monitor vulnerabilities and assess potential risks associated with missing patches.Coordination and Communication:Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including security, DevOps, and application teams, to ensure patching efforts align with business needs and minimize downtime.Communicate patching schedules, progress, and potential impacts to stakeholders.Documentation and Reporting:Maintain detailed documentation of patching processes, schedules, and outcomes.Generate compliance and patching status reports for internal and external audits.Problem Resolution:Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to patching failures or conflicts.Monitor system performance post-patching to ensure stability and resolve any arising issues.Continuous Improvement:Evaluate and recommend tools or processes to enhance the efficiency and reliability of patching operations.Stay up to date with Azure features and best practices related to infrastructure patching and security.Education/Experience:Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Equivalent experience will be considered.3-5 years of overall IT experience, with at least 2 years of focused experience managing patching and updates in Azure cloud environments.Hands-on experience with Azure Update Management, Azure Policy, and monitoring tools.Strong understanding of cloud security principles, compliance requirements, and vulnerability management.Proficiency in Azure Resource Manager (ARM) templates, PowerShell, or other scripting languages.Experience with Azure automation tools, such as Azure Automation and Azure CLI.Familiarity with Azure DevOps or other CI/CD tools for deploying infrastructure updates.Knowledge of ITIL processes related to change management and incident management.Strong organizational and project management skills.Excellent communication and collaboration skills.Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.Preferred Qualifications:Azure certifications, such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate or Azure Solutions.
