Job Description General Summary Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to understand business requirements and develop business intelligence (BI) solutions. Contribute to the design, development, testing, documentation, and maintenance of reporting and analytics solutions. Support strategic initiatives, including population health management, clinical performance, and operational efficiency. Work is performed under limited supervision. Direct report to the Director, Data Analytics and IT Innovation. Principal Responsibilities and Tasks The following statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by people assigned to this classification. These are not to be construed as an exhaustive list of all job duties performed by personnel so classified. • Participate in cross-functional teams to support BI and broader data and analytics initiatives, including project planning, system design, and solution testing. • Maintain, optimize, and improve existing BI systems, with a focus on Microsoft Fabric. • Develop dynamic data discovery and visualization solutions using exploratory analysis, storytelling, and statistical concepts. • Assist stakeholders in interpreting and utilizing BI results to ensure data-driven decision-making. • Create data flow diagrams and medium-to-complex reports, visualizations, and applications using tools such as Fabric/Power BI, SQL, and Tableau. • Identify project risks and work collaboratively to address impediments while meeting project scope, timelines, and budgets. • Troubleshoot implementation issues and ensure security compliance in roll-outs. • Develop and maintain BI reports, applications, and related tools. • Interpret and apply conceptual, logical, and physical data models, including context, data flow, and process flow diagrams. • Perform medium-to-complex data queries and mappings while applying data modeling concepts. • Write, validate, and execute test plans to ensure high availability and reliability of reports and applications. • Prepare documentation, reports, and presentations to support analytics initiatives. • Coordinate prototype review, integration, system, and user acceptance testing (UAT) • Develop ad-hoc queries and reports to support ongoing analytical needs. • Build subject matter expertise in healthcare data, business processes, data marts, and BI applications. • Ensure alignment of IT solutions with business objectives and provide technical expertise as needed. • Develop and test software solutions to ensure technical feasibility and adherence to best practices. • Conduct routine and ad-hoc data analysis, providing insights for strategic and operational decision-making. • Perform statistical analyses to evaluate the effectiveness of clinical and business initiatives. • Provide application support, guidance, and technical expertise to end-users and team members. • Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications Education and Experience • Required • Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Computer Science, Physics, Actuarial Science, or related field, or the equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. • Minimum two (2) years of experience in business intelligence and analytics, including data discovery, visualization, and database extraction using SQL and Python. • Minimum (2) years of experience with BI tools such as Fabric/Power BI, Business Objects, Tableau, Qlik, R, or similar applications. • Preferred • Master's degree in Mathematics, Computer Science, Physics, Actuarial Science, or related field. • Experience developing complex SQL queries. • Experience in healthcare analytics, including business and clinical applications. • Experience with enterprise transaction systems such as Epic, McKesson, or Lawson, with a preference for Epic experience. • Working knowledge of HL7 interfaces and ETL processes. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities • Advanced skill working with data engineering solutions within Microsoft Fabric or similar platforms. • Advanced knowledge of database design, problem analysis, and relational database concepts. • Working knowledge of statistical concepts, including distributions, probability, regression, and hypothesis testing. • Proficiency in at least one of the following programming languages (e.g., C, C#, C++, Java, Python). • Effective skill using storytelling techniques in data visualization to clearly convey insights. • Advanced analytical, conceptual thinking, critical thinking, planning, organizational, and problem-solving skills. • Effective skill presenting findings, conclusions, alternatives and information clearly and concisely at all levels within the organization. • Effective skill developing and maintaining collaborative working relationships with all levels of leadership, staff and vendors. • Advanced skill communicating technical concepts to non-technical audiences. • Effective skill to influence, negotiate and persuade to reach agreeable exchange and positive outcomes. • Flexible, enthusiastic approach to work including a strong desire to learn with the ability to adapt quickly to new systems and learning, understanding, and applying new processes and technologies. • Effective cross-functional collaboration skills with the ability to achieve results with limited supervision. • Ability to analyze, compare, contrast, and validate work with keen attention to detail. • Advanced skill in the use of Microsoft Office Suite (e.g., Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
