Job Summary The Infrastructure Support and Certified Technician supports the district’s technology infrastructure while also providing advanced technical support to staff and students. This position bridges responsibilities between hands-on technical troubleshooting and higher-level infrastructure support, ensuring reliable operation of network systems, servers, devices, and instructional technology across the district. Key Responsibilities Infrastructure Support • Assist in the administration, monitoring, and maintenance of district servers, cloud platforms, storage, and network systems. • Support wired and wireless network infrastructure, including switches, firewalls, and access points. • Perform system updates, backups, and security patches on a regular schedule. • Help implement disaster recovery and data protection measures. Technical Support & Integration • Serve as an escalation point for district technicians on complex troubleshooting issues. • Support deployment, imaging, and management of district devices (Chromebooks, Mac laptops, iPads, Windows Devices, etc.). • Troubleshoot and resolve advanced hardware, software, and peripheral issues for staff and students. • Assist with administration and troubleshooting of district applications and integrations (e.g., SIS, LMS, communication tools) • Collaborate with instructional staff to support effective integration of technology in classrooms. Collaboration & Documentation • Assist with planning and rollout of new technology initiatives and upgrades. • Maintain accurate documentation of systems, configurations, procedures, and inventory. • Provide training and mentorship to technicians and end users as needed. • Collaborate with outside vendors and service providers for escalated support. Qualifications Education & Experience • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience). • 3+ years of experience in technology support, with at least 1 year in systems or network administration. • Experience in a K-12 school environment helpful. Technical Skills • Strong knowledge of Google Workspace administration. • Understanding of wired/wireless networking concepts (VLANs, firewalls, routing, switching). • Experience with device management platforms (e.g., Google Admin Console, MDM solutions). • Competency with ticketing systems and ITIL-based support processes. Other Skills • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills. • Ability to balance infrastructure responsibilities with day-to-day end-user support. • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with diverse stakeholders. • Commitment to continuous learning and staying current on emerging technologies. Certifications (Preferred, Not Required) • CompTIA Network+, Security+, or Server+ • Microsoft, Google, or Apple certifications • Cisco CCNA or equivalent
