Position: Sr. Azure DevOps Architect (CI/CD Experience) - Washington, D.C. VG Systems is seeking a Senior Microsoft Azure Dev Ops Architect (CI/CD Experience) to join a small team supporting a long-standing Federal Government customer. The ideal candidate is a subject matter expert in Azure Dev Ops, CI/CD processes, technologies, and techniques, capable of creating compelling visions, roadmaps, and solutions that gain support from customer leadership and foster buy-in from project teams. The Lead should have a strong desire to learn and grow, staying current with emerging Agile Development technologies and methodologies, and integrating new ideas into the culture. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: • Architect and enhance the organization-wide Agile development transformation, including developing a vision, strategy, and adoption roadmap. • Design CI/CD solutions using Microsoft Azure Dev Ops to automate build, test, and deployment processes. • Collaborate with development teams to optimize code integration and delivery workflows for efficiency and scalability. • Develop CI/CD best practices, standards, and guidelines across the organization. • Lead initiatives to improve CI/CD processes, tools, and technologies to boost developer productivity and accelerate delivery. • Provide technical leadership and guidance on CI/CD best practices, automation, and Dev Ops principles. • Work with infrastructure teams to optimize cloud infrastructure and configuration management supporting CI/CD pipelines. • Monitor and analyze CI/CD pipeline performance, implementing optimizations as needed. • Stay updated on emerging trends in Dev Ops, cloud computing, and CI/CD, evaluating their impact on development processes. Required Skills: • Proven experience leading Azure Dev Ops implementations in large organizations, preferably in the government sector. • Strong understanding of Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban, SAFe, Lean). • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills. • Hands-on experience with CI/CD tools like Jenkins, Git Lab CI/CD, Docker, Kubernetes, Helm. • Proficiency in scripting and automation (Power Shell, Bash, Python, YAML). • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. • Passion for continuous learning and industry trends. • Proficiency in Azure Dev Ops project management features. • Excellent documentation skills. • Attention to detail and critical thinking. Experience & Certifications: • 10+ years in IT software/application support and development roles. • 5+ years leading Azure Dev Ops implementations in large organizations, preferably in government. • Experience leading transformations in Azure with CI/CD automation tools like Selenium, Sonar Qube, etc. • Bachelor’s degree in relevant fields; Master’s preferred. • Azure and/or Microsoft 365 certifications are a plus. • CMMI Associate or higher is a plus. • Scrum Master or SAFe certifications are a plus. • Must be able to obtain a Public Trust clearance. • Customer located in Washington, D.C., with at least three days/week on-site, potential for telework.
