The Database Administrator (DBA) plays a critical role in unlocking the value of our data. This role involves planning, analyzing, designing, implementing, and maintaining databases across multiple platforms to ensure reliable data access and performance. Key Responsibilities include: Database Administration tasks such as business requirements analysis, conceptual, logical, and physical database design, data modeling and mapping, moderate programming to automate and support database environments, performance monitoring, tuning, and database metric analysis, capacity planning and configuration management. Security and Reliability duties include ensuring databases meet Recovery Point Objectives (RPO) and Recovery Time Objectives (RTO), implementing and auditing security controls, and managing backups. Issue Resolution involves troubleshooting service outages and optimizing performance by adjusting hardware, server configurations, and queries as needed. Change Management includes deploying database change scripts from internal development and third-party teams. Monitoring involves configuring and maintaining database monitoring utilities to reduce false alarms and ensure system reliability. Qualifications required are 5+ years database administration in Microsoft SQL Server, 2+ years working with Postgres and pgSQL, 2+ years of experience on AWS (RDS and related supporting services), Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field or equivalent experience. Experience with Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) is a plus. Experience with T-SQL, MS-SQL, DynamoDB, and Snowflake is preferred. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, attention to detail, enthusiasm for precision, ability to learn new skills quickly, and work well in a collaborative team environment are also required.
