Skills • Proficiency in Power BI, including Power Query, DAX, and data modeling • Strong understanding of Azure and SQL database technologies • Experience with data visualization best practices • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills • Strong communication and interpersonal abilities • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously Responsibilities • Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather requirements and understand reporting needs • Use Databricks and dbt to create gold reporting objects for Power BI dashboards • Design and develop interactive dashboards and reports using Microsoft Power BI • Create data models and perform data transformations using Power Query and DAX • Ensure data accuracy and integrity by implementing data validation and quality checks • Optimize Power BI reports for performance and usability • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to Power BI reports and dashboards • Document processes, data sources, and report specifications for future reference Qualifications • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Data Science, or a related field • Minimum 5+ years’ experience as a Power BI Developer or similar role • Strong proficiency in Power BI, including Power Query, DAX, and data modeling • Experience with SQL and relational databases • Familiarity with data visualization best practices and principles • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with stakeholders • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously Education Requirements • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science, or a related field Education Requirements Credential Category • Bachelor’s Degree Experience Requirements • Minimum 5+ years’ experience as a Power BI Developer or similar role • Experience with other BI tools (e.g., IBM Cognos, Tableau, QlikView) is a plus • Reinsurance industry knowledge is preferred • Excellent knowledge of Azure cloud services and data warehousing concepts • Excellent knowledge of Databricks and dbt • Certification in Microsoft Power BI or related technologies preferred Why work in New York, NY New York City is a vibrant hub of culture, innovation, and opportunity.
