Role and Responsibilities: As a Linux System Administrator III, you will be responsible for the technical design, planning, implementation, and highest level of performance tuning and recovery procedures for mission-critical enterprise systems. You will serve as a technical expert in Linux system administration, ensuring high availability and security while supporting development teams. • Perform regular maintenance of Linux systems, specifically RHEL 8 & 9 and Ubuntu • Collaborate with development and QA teams for point-of-sale system support • Install and upgrade servers, configure hardware, peripherals, and services • Monitor system performance and proactively resolve issues • Write and modify scripts to resolve performance issues and automate tasks • Maintain and create system documentation • Implement and enforce security best practices on Linux systems • Investigate security events and ensure compliance enforcement • Manage and maintain Red Hat Satellite Server and Ansible • Support the DevOps team with Docker, Podman, Nginx, and Apache • Provide first response for IT security incidents and violations Required Skills and Experience: • 7+ years of experience in Unix/Linux system administration • 2+ years of experience with RHEL in a virtualized environment • Experience with Configuration Management tools • Experience with Red Hat Identity Management (IDM) • Basic understanding of AIX • Knowledge of IBM Power 8, Power 9, and Power 10 hardware • Familiarity with RAID, SAN, and NAS storage technologies • Understanding of networking protocols and services, including TCP/IP, DNS, and firewalls • Familiarity with MySQL, PostgreSQL, and Microsoft SQL databases • Experience with Apache, Nginx, and related web server technologies • Strong troubleshooting, diagnostic, and scripting skills • Ability to work independently on multiple projects • Willingness to work irregular shifts and provide 24/7 on-call support Preferred Qualifications: • Experience with large-scale, highly available infrastructure architecture • Experience with SolarWinds monitoring tools • Experience in security compliance (SOX, PCI, NIST) • Bachelor's degree or equivalent, or 2 years of related professional experience Compensation and Benefits: Note: The information contained in this description is not intended to be an all-inclusive list of the duties and responsibilities of this job or the skills and abilities required to do the job.
