ROLE OVERVIEW: As a Senior Data Analyst, you will: • Combine multiple health-related datasets to create consolidated information for analysis. • Develop study questions and designs, conduct study-specific or exploratory analyses, and interpret findings based on data sets from a variety of sources, including electronic health records, public health data, healthcare claims data, and census data • Develop complex queries using SQL or other coding languages and validate queries to ensure accuracy and logical consistency • Apply statistical methods and models to analyze data to identify correlations and trends using techniques such as regression and time-series analysis • Summarize data analysis findings and create reports, including presentation visualizations such as charts, graphs, and dashboards • Serve as a thought leader in aligning analytics and data solutions with broader organizational goals and objectives; actively contribute to brainstorming sessions and strategic discussions As a small, agile, mission-driven organization with multiple concurrent projects, the person in this role must be able to organize, take initiative, operate independently with minimal direction, and manage adjusting priorities. QUALIFICATIONS: Education and Experience: • Master’s degree in data science, statistics/biostatistics, data analytics, health informatics, or public health with a strong quantitative emphasis (or other closely related field). Will consider a bachelor’s degree in a closely related field with an equivalent combination of transferrable experience in broadly defined areas of bioinformatics or clinical informatics • 5+ years of relevant analytics experience • Prior professional experience working with healthcare data, population health data, and/or public health data strongly preferred Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: • Demonstrated data literacy with strong analytical, research, and problem-solving skills • Fluency in data manipulation and querying data in Python (preferred), R, or SQL programs • Familiarity with appropriate statistical approaches to interrogate data, such as regression analysis, predictive modeling, and identifying trends • Familiarity with report writing and data visualization tools, such as Python/R visualization libraries, Microsoft SSRS, PowerBI, and Excel • Ability to produce written reports, executive summaries, and presentations based on data analysis; ability to communicate information and share ideas in an impactful and persuasive way • Experience with cloud-based analytics platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure) • Knowledge of the US healthcare system and healthcare data terminologies • Ability to support multiple concurrent, ongoing activities • Collaborative and professional demeanor; approaches tasks with enthusiasm and maintains a constructive mindset even during challenges • Experience with machine learning, data mining, and data structures (preferred) • Knowledge of research design (preferred) Working at Clarkson Regional Health Services: This is an in-office position with the option for a 4:1 hybrid schedule, with four days in the office and one remote day each week. Our office is conveniently located off Regency Parkway, right in the center of Omaha, with easy access to Interstate 680. We have a small, collaborative team and work in a relaxed environment with a casual dress code. Salary is competitive and will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.
