Sr Manager -Platform-Apps Job Locations--GA-Atlanta Responsibilities • Working primarily with .NET, SQL and Web design platforms • Design and lead the software architectures, transforms user needs & functional designs/specifications into technical system designs, develops/ various codes the solution, performs unit testing, and debugs and maintains programs/code • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and providing us with the insights necessary to think beyond the status quo. • Oversee small project teams consisting of other engineers who will look to you as a trusted advisor, a subject matter expert who provides guidance and the right tools to get the job done. Essential Functions • Guide/Mentor software engineers and analysts • Manage resource allocation and provide technical leadership for multiple projects. • Accountable for the delivery of analytics/apps projects • Design and build technical processes to address business issues. • Collaborate with stakeholders within – Business Operations, Sales / Business Development, Finance and Customers • Communicate updates and trains Customers and Internal Business Units (audience ranging from Warehousing/Day-to-Day Inventory Associates to Senior level leaders) DESIGN: Works closely with Functional/Systems Analyst to develop and document user stories considering architectural, as well as programmatic aspects of the agreed-upon solution. Prepares and validates time estimates for program modifications, enhancements, new application software, or any other technology requirements. Follows appropriate internal processes, as well as established industry standards for software design. DEVELOPMENT: Develops software based on approved design. Writes new programs or creates modifications to existing applications as necessary based on project requirements. Follows appropriate internal processes, as well as established industry standards for software coding, documentation, and code management. TESTING: Creates test plans, test files, and scripts for unit testing through integration testing. Performs testing as required & documents results. Follows appropriate internal processes, as well as established industry standards for software testing. IMPLEMENTATION: Follows appropriate change management and implementation procedures. Ensures that appropriate technical and functional documentation is prepared. SUPPORT: Primarily supports i-3PL and other integration applications. Shares responsibility for Call Center support. Provides on-call or after hours support to new applications after implementation. Other duties as assigned or requested Qualifications & Experience • Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science or equivalent; or equivalent combination of education. • Excellent written and oral communication skills. • Knowledge of transportation and warehouse industries. • Demonstrated planning, task organizing and execution skills. • Ability to work in team-oriented environment. • Working knowledge of software design technologies, best practices, etc. • Working knowledge of applicable hardware platforms. Knowledge & Employment Standards • Leads the workload distribution for i-3PL Platform/Apps team. • Perform annual reviews and provide feedback for each of the team members. • Provide technical leadership to the team and aides in making the best decision for the business. • Help eliminate blockers to deliver the functionality. • Facilitate the standup / scrum development for the platform/apps team. • Relevant programming experience required. • Expertise in C#, ASP.NET (version 4.0 minimum), PL/SQL, T-SQL required. • Expertise with HTML5 standards, CSS, and JavaScript. • Knowledge and experience with Angular, jQuery, jQuery UI, and Bootstrap libraries. • Expertise with PowerBI and Microsoft SSRS. (Reporting Services) • Understanding of public cloud such as AWS or Azure is preferred • Familiarity of programming languages extensively used in Data Science applications (e.g., R, Python, Scala, Java, etc.) • Familiarity with XML, XSD, JSON, REST • Enterprise Software Development and Design Pattern experience required. • RedPrairie, MOCA, Java experience preferred • Level of Experience: Performs work with little to no supervision – provides guidance to experienced analysts/developers. Acts as project leader on large, complex projects. Maintains a senior-level workload. Fully capable of working at the highest technical level. Has 10+ years of relevant experience Physical Requirements & Abilities • Requires the ability to sit for long periods of time, with frequent interruptions • Requires several hours per day of sitting, getting up and down from chairs, and reaching, or bending • Requires manual dexterity with normal hand and finger movements for typical office work • Talking, hearing, and seeing are important elements of completing assigned tasks • May require travel by automobile and airplane up for business • May require a visit to facility operation in temperatures at or below freezing • May carry loads related to travel and occasionally lifts, carries, positions, or moves objects weighing up to 20 pounds • Requires the use of various electronic tools • Requires the ability to relate to others beyond giving and receiving instructions: must partner with colleagues without exhibiting behavioral extremes • Requires the performance of work activities including reasoning, negotiating, instructing, persuading, or speaking with others; and respond appropriately to constructive feedback from executive management
