This is a highly focused Windows and Messaging Engineering role and requires someone with deep technical knowledge of Windows Server and Messaging technologies. As a member of the level 3 engineering team, you will be the highest technical escalation point, leading Windows Server and Messaging infrastructure efforts, managing projects across members of various teams, and identifying, designing, and deploying new solutions. Primary Responsibilities • Supports the ongoing maintenance, both proactive and reactive, of the Windows Server infrastructure. • Performs Active Directory maintenance, design, and optimization including group policy changes & audits, OU cleanup & optimization, and functional upgrades. • Provide support to Microsoft Exchange Servers with Database Availability Group as well as DR nodes • Design, upgrade and migrate Microsoft Exchange to newer versions while maintaining High Availability for the messaging system • Maintain Office 365 Directory Synchronization tool • Design and support custom messaging systems based on applications and/or systems requirements in preparation for migration to Office 365 • Design, implement, and support Email authentication technologies, including SPF, DKIM, and DMARC • Deploy, maintain and provide support to Mobile Device Management, Anti-Spam and other messaging related systems, such as Mail Express server, Global Scape Electronic File Transfer system, Instant Messaging, SMTP relays, and TLS • Support users and the Helpdesk with issues related to connectivity to the messaging systems, that includes support for Outlook, message tracking, and message relays • Manage mailbox quotas and storage requirements for messaging systems • Maintains Certificate Services, including the management of custom templates, permissions, and auto-issuance policies. • Implements and troubleshoots IIS per application owner requirements. • Works with the network team to ensure that Sites and Services remain up-to-date and that DNS records are current, accurate, and adhere to best practices. • Ensures that network policy services are configured optimally within the environment for 802.1x purposes and advises the network team on changes or updates that may be required to further secure or expand the solution. • Builds and maintains secure Windows Server images and Group Policies, working closely with the information security team. • Acts as a technical lead, project manager, and level 3 engineer, seeing projects from inception to completion while adhering to BC/DR best practices.. • Maintains the print and file services environments to ensure optimal configuration and uptime. • Works with numerous application owners which may depend on Failover Clustering to ensure that best practices are adhered to and failovers perform as expected. • Troubleshoot, configure and manage Windows Operating Systems including Windows Clusters in both a physical and virtual environments hosting messaging platforms • Identifies automation opportunities and implements accordingly. • Builds extensive documentation both for new and existing solutions and maintains a library of system supporting processes and procedures • Identifies new solutions and/or designs to improve/streamline the environment and/or which provide direct benefits to the business. • Provide administrative support for other systems as required by the Tier-2 and 3 Infrastructure team • Recommends and implements appropriate level solutions and enhancements to ensure improvements in system reliability and performance • Develops and maintains a library of system supporting processes and procedures • Interacts with management and employees on all levels to answer questions, problems and requests regarding system issues • Meet deadlines and produce quality deliverables on-time while adhering to standardized workflows and processes • Participate in the on-call schedule to provide emergency support via pager • Other duties as assigned Job Qualifications • Minimum 7 years of hands-on experience working in MS Exchange and Active Directory environments • Extensive hands-on experience with MS Exchange 2010/2016/2019 with multi-site DAG and Windows 2016/2019 • 3 years of hands-on supporting Exchange in a VMware environment • 3 years of hands-on experience supporting with Microsoft System Center suite of tools, including SCCM and SCOM • Strong knowledge of DNS, DHCP and TCP/IP skills • Strong knowledge of SPF, DKIM, and DMARC • Basic knowledge of Linux administration • Will be required to be accessible by pager 24x7 in case of emergency • Strong work ethic and the willingness and ability to work hours necessary to meet project delaines required • Experience working with mid to large scale servers/network environments required • Excellent verbal and written communication skills • Experience with Microsoft SQL Standard & Enterprise 2014, 2016, 2017, and 2019 • Proficiency with PowerShell and/or other scripting languages. • Strong troubleshooting skills. • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical audiences. • Project Management skills and capable of leading meetings. The anticipated salary range for this position is 130-135K. Actual salary will be based on a variety of factors including relevant experience, knowledge, skills and other factors permitted by law.
