Job Summary: Subway is seeking a dynamic and experienced Data Scientist to join our growing analytics team. This role is key to driving data-driven decision-making across the organization by designing and deploying advanced analytical solutions that enhance customer experience, optimize operations, and fuel profitable growth. You will collaborate with cross-functional leaders to translate complex business challenges into impactful data science products, leveraging cutting-edge techniques to shape the future of our Quick Service Restaurant business. Responsibilities: • Engage with executives in Marketing, Operations, Supply Chain, and various departments to develop data-centric approaches for tackling complex business challenges. • Interpret extensive and varied data sets, such as those containing POS data, customer loyalty information, and feedback, to extract insights that can be put into practical use. • Devise, build, and deploy predictive models and state-of-the-art analytics tools that are scalable and suitable for production deployment. • Establish a strong partnership with data engineers and software teams at all phases of the data product cycle, including data preprocessing, model roll-out, and continuous monitoring. • Apply statistical practices, machine learning algorithms, forecasting methods for time series data, and optimization approaches to support business ventures. • Present discoveries in a manner that is easily understood by both technical and non-technical parties, providing strategic guidance based on analytical findings. • Keep current on emerging data science trends and technologies, exploring the ways in which artificial intelligence and machine learning can be utilized within the quick-service restaurant domain. • Ensure the continual development of Subway's analytics setup by overseeing code repositories and embracing best practices for sustained growth. Qualifications and Experience: • The role requires a Master's degree in fields such as Data Science, Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, Operations Research, or a similar domain. Alternatively, applicants can showcase their eligibility through experience, with an extra three years of practical involvement making up for the lack of an advanced degree. • An extensive background of 6€“10 years in professional data science, marked by accomplishments in developing and rolling out analytics products for practical utilization. • Proficient in statistical modeling, machine learning techniques, hypothesis testing, regression analysis, clustering methods, and experimental design. • Demonstrated competence in Python and SQL programming skills, with experience in utilizing code version control tools such as GitHub, GitLab, and Azure DevOps. • Hands-on experience in utilizing big data tools such as Apache Spark and cloud platforms, ideally AWS SageMaker, is valued. • The ideal candidate should be well-versed in marketing mix models, A/B testing, media segmentation, and QSR/retail analytics. • Distinguished proficiency in analytics, communication, and managing stakeholders across the organizational hierarchy. • Competence in managing tasks efficiently in a high-speed, deadline-focused workplace with conflicting priorities. • Manifested integrity, skillfulness, and a joint, entrepreneurial outlook.
