Job Title: Director of DevOps Location: Cambridge, MA (On-site) Employment Type: Full-time About the Role We are looking for a Director of DevOps to lead the next phase of our engineering operations. This role will own the strategy and execution of DevOps practices across the company, ensuring our systems scale securely and efficiently as we grow. You will oversee infrastructure, automation, and continuous delivery while building and mentoring a world-class team. Responsibilities • Lead, develop, and mentor the DevOps team to deliver high performance and resilience • Define and implement a vision for DevOps strategy across CI/CD, test automation, observability, and infrastructure as code • Drive continuous improvement of build, deployment, and monitoring pipelines • Oversee infrastructure availability, scalability, and performance optimization in production environments • Partner with Engineering, Product, and Security leaders to balance delivery speed with governance and compliance requirements • Manage vendor relationships and evaluate emerging DevOps tools and practices • Report progress and outcomes to executive leadership and the board Qualifications • Proven experience in software development and deep understanding of the SDLC • Expertise in continuous integration, delivery pipelines, and test automation • Strong knowledge of infrastructure management, optimization, and cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) • Hands-on experience with system integration and large-scale distributed systems • Demonstrated leadership in building and scaling DevOps teams • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on outcomes • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities, able to influence at all levels • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field; advanced degree preferred • Prior experience in a Director-level DevOps or similar leadership role is highly desirable Why Join Us At Hoop.dev, you’ll shape how modern infrastructure is managed at scale.
