Our client is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Cloud Security Architect to join their growing cybersecurity team in Milwaukee, Wisconsin . This critical role involves designing, implementing, and managing robust security architectures for cloud-based environments (AWS, Azure, GCP). The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of cloud security principles, best practices, and emerging threats. You will be responsible for developing and enforcing security policies, conducting risk assessments, and implementing security controls to protect sensitive data and critical infrastructure. This position requires hands-on experience with cloud security tools, identity and access management (IAM), network security, data encryption, and security automation. You will collaborate closely with engineering and operations teams to embed security into the entire cloud lifecycle. Responsibilities include designing secure cloud solutions, developing security automation scripts, managing security incidents, and providing expert guidance on cloud security best practices. The Senior Cloud Security Architect will also be responsible for staying current with the latest security threats and technologies, and advising the organization on appropriate protective measures. Responsibilities: Design, implement, and manage cloud security architectures for AWS, Azure, and/or GCP. Develop and enforce cloud security policies, standards, and procedures. Conduct security risk assessments and vulnerability analyses. Implement and manage cloud security controls, including IAM, network security, and data protection. Develop and maintain security automation scripts for deployment and monitoring. Lead incident response activities for cloud-based security events. Provide expert guidance on cloud security best practices and emerging threats. Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to integrate security into the SDLC. Evaluate and recommend new security technologies and tools. Stay current with cloud security trends and regulatory compliance. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Technology, or a related field. Minimum of 8 years of experience in cybersecurity, with at least 5 years focused on cloud security. Proven experience designing and implementing security solutions in AWS, Azure, or GCP. Strong understanding of cloud security principles, frameworks (e.g., NIST, CIS), and best practices. Hands-on experience with security tools such as firewalls, WAFs, IDS/IPS, SIEM, and vulnerability scanners. Expertise in identity and access management (IAM) in cloud environments. Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Python, PowerShell) for security automation. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. Relevant security certifications (e.g., CISSP, CCSP, AWS Certified Security) are highly desirable.
