General Notes The Office of Information Technology is seeking a Lead Data Architect and Analytics Solutions Consultant. This is a temporary position with an end date of 08/31/2025. Purpose The Lead Data Architect & Analytics Consultant will play a pivotal role within the UT-HIP program and Dell Medical School, concentrating on the innovative design and deployment of data structures and advanced analytics initiatives. This position necessitates a profound understanding of data design, modeling, and database architecture, accompanied by expertise in advanced analytical tools and methodologies. Responsibilities • Core Architecture Team: Oversee the overall data design and modeling. This includes crafting efficient, scalable tables and databases that fulfill program and organizational requirements. You will select and implement advanced analytics tools and techniques to derive insights from data. • Data Management & Analytics: Define and oversee the business intelligence data architecture, including ETL processes, operational data stores (ODS), enterprise data warehouses (EDW), data marts, and data lakes. Supervise advanced analytics projects and develop compelling visualizations while managing data export processes for analytics applications. • Electronic Health Records (EHR): Possess in-depth knowledge of EHR data structures, the methodologies for data extraction and transformation (ETL), and the deployment of this data in analytical projects. Familiarity with real-time decision support systems is essential. Understanding healthcare data standards such as FHIR, CCDA, and HL-7 is advantageous. • Presentations & Publications: Lead and contribute to the creation of engaging presentations and publications, including conference presentations, academic journal articles, and internal reports. This role requires excellent communication skills and the ability to translate complex technical concepts for non-technical audiences. • Technical Documentation: Deliver technical artifacts and documentation that satisfy business needs. Collaborate with the IT operations team to establish a sustainable support model. Ensure the creation and maintenance of technical documentation for projects, architectures, and data designs. • Other related duties as assigned. Required Qualifications A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, along with 5-7 years of experience in data architecture, data modeling, and data warehousing is essential. Experience with business intelligence, big data solutions, ETL processes, and tools is required. Familiarity with healthcare data standards like FHIR, CCDA, and HL-7 is a plus. Proficiency with Epic or other EHR systems is desirable. Proven leadership in managing advanced analytics projects and experience with cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud Platform are necessary. Strong knowledge of data architecture principles, SQL proficiency, and an understanding of cloud infrastructure management are required. Additionally, excellent communication skills, the capability to lead teams and manage complex projects, alongside proficiency in deploying applications in the cloud, are critical for success in this role. Preferred Qualifications A Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, with at least 10 years of experience in data architecture and data warehousing, is preferred. Relevant certifications in data architecture, business intelligence, or cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud) would be beneficial.
