Lead Application Developer – Hybrid (Columbus, OH) Contract Type: 6-Month Contract-to-Hire (W2 Only) Pay Range: $65.00–$75.00/hour (W2 only) Eligibility: U.S. Persons only – must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. without current or future sponsorship Schedule: Hybrid – minimum 2 days/week onsite (Tuesdays & Thursdays preferred) Overview We’re seeking a Lead Application Developer with deep experience in the Microsoft technology stack to guide full-stack development and mentor a small technical team. This role focuses on both hands-on development and technical leadership, with an initial emphasis on modernizing a public-facing web application and later supporting a mix of legacy and new systems. This position requires someone local to the Columbus area who can collaborate onsite regularly and work standard U.S. (CST/EST) business hours. Key Responsibilities • Lead design, development, and implementation of .NET and SQL-based applications. • Oversee code quality, conduct reviews, and mentor junior developers. • Collaborate with business and technical stakeholders to define requirements and deliver scalable solutions. • Develop and maintain DevOps pipelines, manage source control (TFS/GIT), and oversee release/change management. • Support hybrid Agile/Waterfall development cycles and contribute to sprint planning. • Evaluate emerging tools and recommend improvements for system performance and reliability. • Support both greenfield and legacy applications, including web and desktop (WPF) systems. Required Skills • 5+ years of professional software development experience using .NET / C#, SQL Server, and related technologies. • Experience with Angular or similar modern JavaScript frameworks for front-end development. • Proven background in release management, DevOps, and SSO (Single Sign-On). • Experience developing APIs, stored procedures, and database-driven applications. • Proficiency with TFS, Azure DevOps, or Git for version control. • Strong understanding of the full SDLC, including Agile methodologies. • Excellent problem-solving, documentation, and communication skills. Preferred Experience • Familiarity with Python for automation or scripting. • Background in application architecture or framework design. • Experience using AI/ML tools (e.g., Instabase, Copilot, or similar) for code review or optimization. Additional Details • W2 Only – No C2C or third-party vendors. • Candidates must be local to Columbus, OH for hybrid work. • U.S. Person required due to contract-to-hire eligibility. • Expected start: ASAP following interview and onboarding.
