Brief Description Job Summary The Technical Systems Administrator II (TSA) position provides advanced technical support and resolution for technical issues and support to end-users. The role involves direct interaction with users to troubleshoot and resolve issues related to hardware, software, and network systems. This role involves diagnosing and troubleshooting computer systems connected to manufacturing equipment as well as assisting with system maintenance and user training. AFS technical systems include Controlled Unclassified Information. Technical Systems Administrator will be the primary Admin for a few Enterprise Systems and be responsible for project managing system improvements and enhancements. Essential Job Duties Technical Support: • Troubleshoot and resolve user requests for technical assistance and providing resolution for simple and complex issues related to hardware, software, and network systems via phone, email, or in-person. • Troubleshoot and support computer systems connected to production machinery and manufacturing systems • Coordinate and own vendor support for production system computer issue resolution. Incident Management • Log all user interactions and resolutions in the IT service management system. • Collaborate with other IT teams and third-party vendors to resolve issues and implement solutions. System Maintenance • Perform routine maintenance tasks such as software updates, backups, and system checks. • Assist in the deployment and configuration of new hardware and software for users. Inventory Management • Document and maintain an inventory of hardware, software, and other IT assets. Continuous Improvement • Identify opportunities for process improvements and automation within the IT support workflow. • Participate in IT projects, contributing technical expertise and support. • Enterprise System Administration • Be the primary System Administrator for 2 or more Enterprise systems • Be the back-up System Administrator for 2 or more Enterprise Systems • Project Management • Be the primary Project Manager for Enterprise system implementations effectively using Monday.Com to manage Technology projects Qualifications Education: • Associate degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field is required. • Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or related field (Preferred), or equivalent experience. Experience And/or Training • Minimum of 3 years of experience in systems administration and end-user technical support or help desk roles. Licenses/Certifications Preferred Certifications (any Combination Of) • CompTIA A+ or equivalent • Microsoft Certified: Modern Desktop Administrator Associate • ITIL Foundation Certification • Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate • AWS Certified SysOps Administrator • CompTIA Server+ or Linux+ • Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) Technology/Equipment • In-depth knowledge of operating systems (Windows, Linux) and enterprise software applications. • Familiarity with Microsoft 365, Active Directory, and basic networking concepts. • Experience troubleshooting hardware issues for desktops, laptops, and printers. • Knowledge of common software applications and remote support tools. • Strong understanding of network concepts, including Familiarity with LAN/WAN, TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and VPN. • Proficiency in using remote support tools and IT service management software: ConnectWise and Halo preferred • Experience with server administration, virtualization (VMware, Hyper-V), and cloud services (Azure, AWS). • Knowledge of security standards and experience in administering IT security controls. • Experience with ITIL framework and best practices. • Experience with Microsoft Intune (MDM, Endpoint Manager) Working Environment • Work or presence on the plant floor may lead to exposure to possible hazardous conditions. • Proper safety equipment is provided, and its use is mandatory. • Onsite presence required, with primary location in Bloomington. • Full-time position with onsite presence M-F. • Office environment with the potential for some remote work. • Available for after-hours and on-call support for issue resolution. • May require occasional evening or weekend work to support critical incidents or maintenance activities. • Travel by car will be required to provide onsite support at various AFS sites. • Remotely support operations as required.
