Apply Description Systems Administrator Job Summary George T. Sanders Company is a family-owned distributor of plumbing and HVAC supplies with branches across Colorado and Wyoming. We are seeking a proactive and technically adept Systems Administrator to manage and evolve our IT infrastructure, end-user support, and project execution. This is a hands-on, mid-to-senior level role best suited for someone ready to work autonomously, interface with business units, and take ownership of projects across cybersecurity, infrastructure, cloud systems, and desktop support. The ideal candidate will be a thoughtful communicator who thrives in a small team, and balances daily operational needs with long-term project execution. Work will primarily be done from the company headquarters in Wheat Ridge, CO. This role will offer a unique opportunity for the right candidate. Reporting to the Director of IT & eCommerce and offering a hybrid schedule – Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays in office, and Mondays and Fridays work from home. (Required to be at the Corporate Office or on-site at a GTS location Tuesdays-Thursdays). RESPONSIBLITIES Technical Support & Administration • Serve as the primary point of contact for end-user support across ~175 employees across nearly 20 locations; resolve Tier 1–3 support tickets in Freshdesk. • Manage, maintain, and troubleshoot systems including: • Microsoft 365, Azure AD (Hybrid), Group Policy • Windows Servers in Hyper-V environments • Networking: Switches, VPN and SD-WAN connectivity • SSO integrations and access provisioning • Mimecast, 8x8 VoIP, and mobile device environments • Administer device lifecycle and asset management (desktops, laptops, printers, cell phones). • Collaborate with our Managed Services Provider (MSP) for advanced security, backup management, antivirus oversight, and complex troubleshooting. Escalate, delegate, or co-troubleshoot issues as appropriate. Systems & Project Execution • Lead or support IT initiatives such as: • Cybersecurity training rollout and disaster recovery planning • Mobile Device Management (MDM) improvements • Active Directory data cleanup and standardization • Signature manager deployment (CodeTwo or similar) • Credit card terminal replacement project (hardware + vendor coordination) • Collaborate with the Director of IT & eCommerce on project timelines and weekly status reporting. Communication & Cross-Department Collaboration • Serve as a technical liaison to non-technical departments across the business. • Provide in-person or remote training to employees on new systems or processes. • Proactively escalate risks, blockers, or needed decisions without requiring constant follow-up. Documentation & Governance • Maintain IT documentation, SOPs, knowledge base articles, and asset tracking. • Follow and reinforce IT security and compliance protocols. Requirements REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS • 4+ years in a Systems Administrator, IT Support Engineer, or similar role. • Proficient with M365, Azure AD (Hybrid), Windows Server, Hyper-V, and standard networking protocols. • Experience managing cybersecurity tools (e.g., endpoint protection, MFA, email security). • Strong troubleshooting skills across hardware, software, and cloud platforms. • Basic scripting or automation knowledge (e.g., PowerShell). • Proven track record of completing IT projects on time with minimal oversight. • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a collaborative attitude. Preferred Qualifications • Experience working in an SMB/distribution or multi-location environment. • Experience working with or alongside a Managed Services Provider in a hybrid internal/external IT support model. • Familiarity with: • MobileIron, CodeTwo, Keeper, Mimecast, Freshdesk • ERP systems (Infor CSD is a plus) • SD-WAN and Palo Alto VPN • Desire and aptitude to grow into an IT leadership role. WORK CONDITIONS & EXPECTATIONS • Hybrid; Work from home workspace must comply with company policy. • Must be responsive and present during core business hours. • Occasional travel to branch locations (~10%) required. • Must be able to lift/move IT hardware (~25-30 lbs.; occasionally up to 75 lbs. depending on equipment) Salary Description $75,000.00-$85,000.00
