Overview: GovCIO is seeking a talented Cloud Systems Administrator to join our team! In this role, you will be responsible for configuring, deploying, refining, and administering AWS-based resources on both Microsoft Windows and Red Hat Enterprise Linux. This position is hybrid remote with a primary location in Hanover, MD. Key Responsibilities: • Configure, deploy, enhance, and manage AWS-based resources. • Build, install, configure, secure (STIG), test, and deploy AWS infrastructure and DevSecOps platform components as new requirements arise. • Manage the installation, configuration, and deployment of Red Hat Enterprise Linux and Windows servers. • Conduct regular systems administration tasks including monitoring, maintenance, version upgrades, patching, and account management for AWS instances. • Perform routine audits of platform components to ensure compliance with established standards, policies, and guidelines. • Support the management and monitoring of various AWS-hosted features and services and maintain backups and disaster recovery processes. • Create and maintain documentation on systems operations and maintenance procedures. • Document and suggest improvements for business processes and workflows. • Participate in regular and ad hoc client meetings to ensure customer satisfaction and program performance. Qualifications: • Required Skills and Experience: • Top Secret clearance required. • High School diploma or equivalent with 10+ years of relevant experience. • IAT Level II certification (e.g., CompTIA Security+(CE)). • Computer Environment Certificate (e.g., AWS, Linux). • A minimum of 8 years of progressive Systems Administration experience. • 3+ years of experience with AWS cloud technologies. • Strong understanding of Red Hat Enterprise Linux and Windows server administration in an AWS environment. • Proven experience in migrating applications and deploying, configuring, and maintaining applications in virtualized environments. • Knowledge of information security practices (e.g., cryptography, privilege separation, RBAC, INFOSEC, auditing, patching, OS hardening) in AWS. Preferred Skills and Experience: • Excellent interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with customers and cross-functional teams. • AWS DevSecOps certification or other relevant AWS Certifications. • Experience with virtual and cloud-based servers and applications. • Outstanding technical documentation and reporting skills. • Effective written and oral communication skills. • Experience working in an Agile environment. • Relevant technology certifications.
